    SCARY Problem with my RPM's

I did a pull with my buddy on his oh so fast civic (don't ask me why) I smashed him. but then a second time when we were on the express way we bolted out of a toll booth. I launched at around 3500 not that serious but when i shifted my rpms didnt go down they stayed at 6.8k and it didnt feel like i was getting anymore power so i shifted into third and let off the throttle and the rpms stayed up hi untill i completely let off and hit my brakes to get down to speed limit. this was before i put my new ecu with a giac chip in and i did a few pulls in stock with the chip and on my 3rd or 4th pull it happened again. what could be happening? At first I thought it may have be my DV's but the dentist drill noise and whooo is not loud at all and I already have a Smaco TBB. Could it be a trans problem?

That doesn't sound like clutch slipping...you probably have a bad clutch pedal switch if the RPM's aren't dropping when you depress the clutch.

Check your codes, it will tell you.

Try cleaning out the TB with throttle body cleaner.

It's tough to say whether it's a throttle based problem, like a bad clutch air vent switch, or a case of clutch slipping.

When the rpm's are sky-rocketing, what happens when you put the car in neutral? Do the rpm's only stay high when you are in gear?

Yes as long as I hold down the throttle but it normalizes when I let off completely. But when just cruising I don't feel the normal symptoms of a clutch slipping it seems fine. But say it is the clutch how much for a rs4 like $500 correct? Is there any better for the buck?
