I pressed RBDS. and P.Scan and it will not leave Safe mode to let me enter the digits. Ever seen this before?
I have tried unplugging the ECU and I tried unplugging the battery and nothing.
This is literally driving me crazy

    Please help

LOL.. I'm in the same exact boat. My radio was working fine, but I didn't start the car for a month or so and the battery died. I read the manual and did the two buttons at the same time and entered in the correct code. After two attempts it then locked up just like yours. Did you let it sit on for an hour of constant power with no interruptions? That's how you get it out of locked mode and it allows you to try entering the code again. I did all that with mine and I'm starting to fear that the manual with the code may not belong to my actual radio. I"m going to have my tech look at it soon to see what's up.

    lol
    yeah Im here guys.
I still browse the forums occasionally. I got really into skiing this winter, And I was working as a ski technician then the biking season is here and im a bike tech in the ski off season.
I have been on biking forums more lately.
I got the timing belt service done. Bought a roof rack and thats about it.
nice to know you guys care.
And btw If i turn the radio on to where it says SAFE with no key in the ignition will it be contantly powered or should i leave the ignition in the on position.

I'm going to point out the obvious and ask if you just pressed the buttons, or if you held them down for a few seconds?

Either have the car running or the key in the acc. position with the radio on for an hour no interruptions and also like Jerbal stated up above.

    Re: RBDS + P.Scan = nothing...please help.

Yeah I pressed them at the same time, and held.
    Then I tried:
Key in, key out, car on, engine on, ecu swap, battery reset.

Right now, I have the keys in my pocket, And the Radio On with Safe displayed, and one hour from now I shall try to press RBDS and PScan together to enter my God damn code.
If that doesn't work I will give it a try with the key set to Acc.

No K04's for me. Gonna drive the car like a baby till im ready to get rid of it for a cobra or something.

I think if you have entered the wrong code a few times you need to have the radio on for an hour with the key in the on position......

Its some kind of lock out feature.
