Therefore, the price for the car itself would be around $28200. I am pretty sure to keep the car for 2+ years, and that is why I want to purchase a CPO one. However, can I purchase the extended warranty anytime in the future if I didn't get a CPO one?
I understand, however, you may want to use the $28,200 price as the basis for you to get opinions on the price of the car.
I have a friend who owns an Audi dealership and has access to the Audi Finance auctions where all the ex-lease, corporate, demos etc get auctioned. A couple of months ago when I was shopping for mine, the price range for an 06 s-line was between $23k and $24.5k depending on options and mileage. A dealer then needs to invest ~$1k in auction fees, transport and inspecting the car before it goes on the lot. They wil also need to make at least ~$1k profit. So, from my vantage point, ~$26.5k would be an equitable deal for both parties. Hope this helps.
