    Any way to disable citylights?

OK, the color of the light from the citylights sucks (doesn't match the HID's). Since there are no replacements available (aside from melted housings and bulb out warnings).... I'd like to disable the citylights altogether. Is there any way to do this without getting a bulb out warning?

I know a lot of people code their car for rest of the world to eliminate the ambers unless the headlights are on. I want the ambers, but eliminate the citylights. The ambers actually look awesome with Imola Yellow.

Right now, when I want to run ambers without headlights on, I'm stuck with the citylights coming on too. I think it would look pretty cool to be able to just run the ambers only with no citylights.

    Thanks.

Thanks. I know about that already, but I think I'd rather not have citylights at all....or at least be able to turn them off. Besides, I don't want to modify my headlights at all and his stuff is still in the testing phase.

I hear ya, my inelegant solution was to pull the bulb out of the socket, use some high temp (up to 400F) silicone electrical tape to wrap the bulb up completely so no light is seen from it, then stick it back inside the housing for storage. Don't put it back in place, just leave it inside the light housing.
Not sexy, but it works well without cutting wires and you don't get error messages on the dashboard. Completely reversible also.

I was thinking - couldnt you just jump the circuit with some metal wire?

That would just short + directly to ground. There would be no load. A resistor might work in place of the bulb though.

Depending on the wattage. Higher wattage resistor would handle more power and wouldn't get as hot.......but the higher the wattage, the larger the resistor. So it might not fit so well in the housing....
