    Post Miles And Mods Thread!

This thread is to give an idea to people with stocks cars what to expect when adding any type of performance hardware/software to increase engine output. We should list our mods and how many miles you have driven with those mods and any problems you've had. This should help most of us with making informed decisions. I'm piecing my kit together and would like to know what im getting into.
Also I think we can add suspesntion, it's nice to know how long shocks/struts last
    for example:

    2002 a4 1.8tq
56k miles, stock, blah blah blah....get the point.

    Re: Miles And Mods Thread!

K04 status overhere. Basically no problems only thing is I blew a lot of hoses and minor stuff. Blew out engine, diff, tranny mounts. Clutch went very fast. When you upgrade you will need to keep up with all the other maintanance stuff.
    Unitronic tuned. love it.

Need any services done in NYC area please PM me. I will diagnose and fix your car. Also do clutch replacements, Timing-belt services, Turbo upgrade/installation, Fluid changes, boost leaks and pretty much anything.

Damn you did that with a k04? This is one of the reasons I'm hesitant to go BT. If a k04 results in " blew a lot of hoses....Blew out engine, diff, tranny mounts. Clutch" what does a BT do to the car? I'm not one to be messing with the car or paying someone to mess with the car to keep it maintained because of the changes caused by a bigger turbo. Just not good at that shit, I wish I was.

Now that my car is out of warranty I really want to go BT. This thread will be interesting if the BT owners truly report on what has had to be replaced and what went wrong, and not just try to convince people that BTs are plug and play or problem free or have the same problems as a k04 .

    Re: Miles And Mods Thread!

    Oh I forgot

    02 1.8 fwd 69k
GIAC software with Siemens injectors- no problems, running the GIAC for about 3 yrs and got the upgraded file, no probs. 35k

Southbend OFE clutch for about a year and a half 18k - no problems at all

Stratmosphere short shifter for about 3 yrs 35k no probs

APR snub had to be adjusted once- had it for 3 years 35k

s4 rear sway for about 2 years -no problems 20k

Milltek exhaust for about 2 and a half years, the only gripe is a little one, the tips aren't totally centered but that's not a performance issue. 35k

I've had a couple boost leaks and hoses replaced. who knows if it was cause by the GIAC software and inj. Also replaced water pump and front control arms, ESP module and coilpacks up the yingyang. A couple other things but can't remember offhand because they were all covered.

Yeah , so it seems. Whatever I do , I'll probably put the Samco or Samco-type hose replacements in there. Plus , I think the k04 software would be either free or really cheap because I have GIAC already.
