    Paging RAudi Driver...

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I recently purchased H&R spacers and I believe I have the same problem you did with the mating surface not being the same diameter. I got 10mm for the front and 12mm for the rear and both are wrong. Neither pair has been mounted yet as I am skeptical of a possible safety issue. I spoke with a master mechanic who works on Rolls Royce's and Bentley's and he warned that the unequal surface could create a dangerous situation over time. According to ECS Tuning, they're the correct spacers. I'm thinking of saying "screw it" with H&R and just buying MTM 10mm front and 15mm back (i don't care about the understeer because my car rarely gets pushed hard). I haven't read of a single vibration problem with MTM spacers. Your thoughts and possibly part #'s for H&R. Thanks

idk I have the H&R spacers on my S4 and I push my car plenty hard around the turns, straight aways I have no vibration or any other unwanted business. They seem fine. Are they the same diameter of the wheel no, but because of their hub-centric nature the work great

    Re: Paging RAudi Driver...

I you own an RS4 you're don't want to put on the standard H&R 10mm spacers. You need to go to H&R's web site and dial in the spacers for your application, i.e. 2007/08 RS4. A page will come up showing you all the spacer sizes and corresponding part numbers. However, these part numbers are not applicable to our RS4's. RS4 owners need to click on the footnote #24 and use those part numbers. Here they are below:

If ECS is giving you some crap about the spacers, tell them to brush up on the stuff that they sell. I had an in-depth conversation with the guys at H&R about this and they said that you can't run the smaller spacers on the RS4 as it will cause problems. Whatever you do, don't toss them on the car. They are unreturnable once mounted. You will end up fighting with ECS to get them to swap 'em out, which they should since they dropped the ball on this one. Nobody ever looks at these footnotes and that's where the problem arises.

Good Luck and keep us posted.

    Footnote
24 If the hub face of your vehicle is 150mm (most vehicles have 135mm hub face), alternative spacers are available. Please see list below.

S4 owners, your applications are different so lets not mix this issue up.

RAudi, got any pics with the new spacers? I'm thinking of doing 10mm all around.

I'm waiting to see some pictures of your car to make the ultimate decision. I think I may go with the DR = 8mm 162555719... Where did you buy yours?

    I own an '07 S4 and...

the spacers supplied by ECS don't match the stock wheels/hub diameter. I guess RS4 owners have the same problem. I'm pretty pissed as I have waited over 2 months for ECS to get them in stock and they turned out to be the wrong ones. These are the part #'s they supplied me with: 20255571 and 24255571. I now know that I need the same ones as you RS4 owners. I may just go with the MTM's and forget this nonsense and all the waiting around. What a headache!

H&R's cost about $100 without bolts and MTM cost about $150 with bolts. So the MTM's will cost about $25 more per pair. Not bad for what you are getting.

Is ECS going to give you a refund? If not then I would dispute the charge with my credit card company stating hat the company sold the wrong part that does not fit the car. You can get H&R to verify that.

Did you order direct from HRSPRINGS and how long a delay / are the two sets immediately in inventory / did they ship right away?

    Re: Paging RAudi Driver...

Hi guys, I have 8mm on the front and 10mm on the back. you can use 10mm on the front if you're not planing on dropping the car. however if like me you plan to fit lower springs " I have the H&R ones" you will find with 10mm spacers on the front when pushing on through the bends the tyre rubs on the clip that holds the inside arch inplace. Only know this as a friend in the UK has just fitted 10mm all round with H&R springs and has had these problems. Hope that's of help.
