hello i have a stage 3 01 s4 Tiptronic and just blew out my 4th and 5th gear. i need to either decide to buy another stock transmission for about ~$700 or save up and spend $xxx for an upgraded one, i have done my research and i have read some previous buyers bad experiences with both IPT and lv10 built transmissions and issues with getting warranty services on these transmissions, so i want to know everything i can before dropping lots of money on something i might regret:

what is the realistic whp/wtq levels your built auto can hold, how long will it hold it,

any other owners that have your product that can show long time ownership without issues

what kind of warranty/guarantee is on one of these built autos to back up the claim above

what are the limitations of the warranty, ie # of exchanges allowed, realistic turn around time

are there core available for a quick exchange

    Hi,

I'm not sure what you may have read, but if you would like more info feel free to give us a shout... It's tough for me to get the time to write "essay" type answers.

In a nutshell, Our warranty is 12 months / 12000 miles on performance transmissions- it covers everything except improper installation, blatant abuse, hitting a boulder in the road, neglect (like driving around with a low fluid condition, etc.) Essentially, things beyond our control.

Turn around is usually 5-10 business days, as far as exchange transmissions- we have some of the codes but not every one.

is the install kit the same as the performance transmission. minus the valvebody?

what is the improvement from your clutch packs vs the oem ones?

are these following features included in your diy rebuilt kit:

    # Hi Energy friction plates and IPT laser cut, surface treated 1008 steel plates are installed in all shifting clutches.
    # *NEW FEATURE* We have now developed the industry's only 7 friction disk “C” clutch pack, 6 friction disk “E” clutch pack and 6 friction disk “F” clutch pack for a tremendous increase in second, third, fourth and fifth gear holding capacity.
    # New one way clutches (sprags) are installed in all locations

I think it's easier and quicker to do it over the phone. At least thats what it looks like to me might want to give it a shot.

well you see the problem with over the phone is you will get an different answer depending on who you talk to. and if you get screwed, not saying IPT will screw anyone, there not much you can do about it, how many times you bought something, they told you "yeah ill ship it out next week" but then after you paid your waiting 3 month.... get it in writing

but to ask the vendor or shop to post the info here, where its public and everyone can see it, you have some more support for the product

to me, if a company have a really good product they will SHOW you how good it is, instead of just say "Yeah ours is better"

if a company cant answer WHY its better w/ data, specs, etc, then how do i or you or any other consumer know its actually better

frankly i wont take anyone else world for it without proof, hard facts, and data to back it up

so if IPT will state WHY their kit is better than the competition and prove then they have my money, but if not, they are going to loose their credibility and reputation for not being able to back up their claims,
