city light w/fog mod without splicing wires?

I've seen the write up in the DIY section that splices into the wiring harness but I could have swore I remember reading someone that did a write up without having to splice any wires.

I can't seem to find it.

Re: city light w/fog mod without splicing wires?

I just did that mod and I want to know if this is supposed to work this way.

I usually keep it in AUTO, so what I've got to do is turn it one more click to the right (clockwise) and pull out to get the fogs & city lights on, correct?

For some reason I thought I could just keep it in AUTO and just pull out on the knob to get just city & fogs on.

you are correct. You can only have it in "city" mode and xenon mode for the fogs to turn on. In auto mode, the knob does not come out, thus no fogs..... kind of inconvenient, but you'll get use to it....

With this mod working correctly you should be able to turn the selector to the parking lights only selection and pull the knob out so that your fog lights will work/run in conjunction with only your parking lights on the B6 models (with the only exception being the '02 model B6s).
