    Water infiltration

I have some water getting in. Its following the firewall from inside and it accumulate under the driver seat.

I don't have a sunroof. I've checked pretty much everywhere and I couldnt find anything.

I sent the car to a windshield repair place and they tried to see if it was leaking through the windshield "glue" and they told me its not from there...

I'm pretty much clueless... Where the hell does it come from?

    Re: Water infiltration

i had water come in through my cabin filter after a hurricane. i had 6 gallons on my passenger side floorboard. didnt notice till i came to a stop sign in my neighborhood and all 6 gallons came rushing forward lol. make sure your molding that sits against the windshield is on properly. that was the culprit in my scenario

    Re: Water infiltration

2 things to check. 1 there is 2 drains under the battery make sure those are working... otherwise your firewall area will fill with water. 2 make sure there are no holes in your ECU box there is a huge rectangular hole under the ECU leading to under your dash. If the plastic box isn't water tight water will get in thru this area.

    Re: Water infiltration

So it could either be the cabin filter or molding around the windshield? An is the molding on the outside? Thanks.

Cool thanks for the extra input.

    Re: Water infiltration

the molding that i speak of is the peice of plastic that lies against the windshield on the exterior of the car.

    Re: Water infiltration

Don't forget to check next to the ECU box. It's almost under the fender and far up in the corner.

There's a grommet that seals the rather large hole for the hood release cable. I could not get mine back into place on my old B5, for the life of me. Fortunately the newer one doesn't have that issue.

Another place to check is below the vacuum booster, there's a couple holes down there for the clutch master cylinder.

    Re: Water infiltration

looks good, nice job on doing it right.
I seem to have those kind of things happen to me, stuff that just happens and so you just have fix it before it gets worse or causes other problems, even though theres other stuff you would rather be doing.
