I'm in the market for an A4. Found one near me. It's an 06 Audi A4 2.0T quattro 6 speed, S-line package, 12,500 miles, black on black for $27,995. Do you think the price is right? If not, how can negotiate it down a bit? Thanks. btw, here's the link http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.js...ce=&cardist=20

i think that price is a bit high, even if its a lower mileage 06.

Well, I would say it is a tad high too. I would go to like Edmunds.com and use their calculator to figure how much the vehicle is really worth. I would then print that off and use Edmunds' estimate to as a frame of reference to negotiate. The economy is a slow now and people aren't buying cars, especially the nicer ones. Audi is doing great financing too, I got 0.9% on my '06 CPO A4. Also, you can read Kelly Blue Books website like Edmunds.

I think its a little high but that car looks great, especially if its a CPO with that low of miles. I'd try to bump him down between 1500 and 3000

Re: Is this a good deal?

That is not a bad deal. Audi did run a 2.9% financing option on the 06 end of last year, but that may have ended. Either way, use it as a bargaining tool. I reckon you could get them down to $26,750.

I, personally, would take it. Like acbrooks2 mentioned, I think its a good deal, just not a stellar deal. If you can't wait at all, I say go for it.

Re: Is this a good deal?

Audis on the opposite coasts are over priced. You can get an 06 with about 20k miles cpo for around (if not under) $20k. $27k for a discontinued car? Before taxes? They have at least $6k in the car. Go to Kbb.com and look at what that car would trade in to a dealer as, add a couple grand to that price and you have what you should pay for the car, which by my calculations (having worked for an Audi dealer) should be about $24k. I personally would steal the car from them and get it as close to cost as possible because its a discontinued model and they'll make money on it and the salesman will get about $500-$750 so everybody wins.

Audi has bonus' on 'aged units' or spiffs on cpo cars so they might get a couple hundred on top of their commission. If you can stand having 30k miles on the car you can get a non S-Line (s-line is ghey anyway vs. what you could mod for what you'll pay for it) manual, premium and otherwise basic A4 for under $20k. I GUARANTEE THAT. You'll have to be persistent and patient but its out there.

Good luck, its a great car!

    [edit]
Sorry guys, but thats NOT a great deal. NOONE should pay over $25k for an 2.0T A4 that isnt a loaded titanium package. Test drive it locally then find a dealer across the country that has a CPO with the options you want on the color you like under $25k (you can bargain $1500-$2000 off that price) pay whatever it costs to ship it to the nearest dealer and tip a Salesman a couple hundred to 'deliver' it to you. Or travel to the car. Dont pay $30k for a 4 banger A4. In six months they'll be throwing these away, i've seen it before.

its not a bad price considering its a manual and also an 06 with the free maintanance.

i wish had my buddies paperwork... he just bought an A4 last weekend. An '07 , mind you, with something like 16k miles 2.0T off lease CPO (so he knew it had been maintenanced by Audi) with every option except S-Line and Titanium package trim for $25k out the door.

i paid $27k for mine 8 months ago but I had them tack the DTM package, carbon trim, and the Titanium rims and new tires along with an OEM RNS-E (because there were none available any where in the country used with the options i wanted) including labor.

    Tell me it isnt possible.
