Need experienced/Tech help ASAP with TSB

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
    Hey Guys,

Im in need of some serious help here. I am experiencing the problems of Cam lobe wear (fuel cut/limp mode after high RPM's etc.) I am 99.9% sure that after doing weeks of research that this is my problem. Here is the real issue: after taking my car in for a fault code (low pressure fuel regulator) twice now, and asking both times to have the cam lobe wear checked (with 2 different dealerships) I've gotten nowhere. To make things worse, I am now past my warranty period. Now I know that there is a TSB out on this issue, and knowing that it costs roughly $5000-$8000 to fix, my question is this: Will Audi cover this problem with the TSB out on it, or am I completely out of luck here?

Exactly. Sell it to a dealership and dont' tell them. After all, they wouldn't fix it for you.

AoA are not too forgiving but if you have made the complaint at too places under warranty and they have not looked at it, then you can call up AoA and tell them neither dealerships are willing to check the TSB out for your car under warranty and it is getting worse and now you are out of warranty. (maybe a try)

I know that GM deals with the same things with customers, i see it first hand by being a GM tech that usually GM will goodwill the repair for the customer if their just out of warrenty and will take care of them for good CSI/Future customers. Especially if their is a TSB, you should demand it be looked at and repaired at no charge on your behalf. If so, thats bullshit and i myself, would not purchase another Audi if that were to happen to me

IMO if there is a known issue with that, dealer should covered it and specially if you reported the problem while you were under manuf. warranty.

What do you mean you didn't get anywhere?
What was the diagnosis for the faulty code?
What caused the code? What was the repair?
Did the dealer/s and tech/s do anything?
What's on your service/repair tickets from the Audi dealers?

If you have the receipts/repair tickets specifying the particular problem, then that should help you get resolution even though you are now out of warranty. I assume you're out of warranty due to mileage, not time?
IOW, you have had to requests for service to investigate and repair a known issue that has a TSB. At the particular time that the dealer "looked" at the issue, they claim "no problems found".
Do you KNOW for a fact that you do have the actual problem?
If so, how do you know?

It seems you had error codes before indicating a problem, but, what was the fix for those codes?
I think Audi of America will help you out and have the problem fixed.
However, you may need to take your Audi to a different dealer and have them address the issue, because it seems the last place you went to had some incompetent tech's.
You need to get the problem identified first and foremost.
Make an appointment and take your Audi in to the Audi dealer and ask them to find out the problem. I'm guessing you have another "check engine" light or stored codes?

Audi has to fix your TSB regardless if your car is modded/Out of warranty.

I have an apr chip, awe exhaust, test pipe and took mine in for the cam TSB... they replaced everything.

relax. Call AoA. Tell them you have previous fueling issues and that you are experiencing this issue. Be nice. Ask them to extend this as a courtesy because of the previous issues and because it's a known issue. Say please & thank you.
