Reputable Shops for 2.0 Build

So I have been trying to work with Force Fed for the past 3 weeks, I'd really love for these guys to do my motor but they never get back to me on pricing. (Called yesterday said they'd call by 4 and never did, extremely knowledgeable guys on the 1.8t, they know their shit well. =/ ) Are there any other shops in the tristate area that do excellent work on 1.8ts? Especially engine builds?

My Finals are done on Tuesday, ordering an ABA crank as we speak and I want to get the ball rolling on this.

I'm looking for something a bit local, so I can drop off the car, and then pick it up. I wouldn't want to worry with something going wrong in the shipping process. (Someone stealing my motor or serious damage, don't want that on my head)

You can have any shop do the labor even if you buy a fully built 2 liter long block from me which includes a 8500 rpm built head. I already sold one to a AZ B6 owner which was already dropped off at his house and have a few more in the works at this time. I offer 1.8-2.0 long block or short block builds with stock rebuilt or 8500 rpm build heads.

Check out ICS Performance in Stamford, CT. Very very reputable shop, guy there named Brian that has a Stage 3 S4 I believe, Audis are his specialty. My friend just got his 57 trim evo tuned there and its putting down 520whp.

I'm not sure how they are with motor builds, nor do I have personal experience with them (besides over the phone advice from Brian) but every person I know that has gone there raves about their service.

Actually it's not as bad as you think. A engine would would most likely cost the same as freight shipping a 10 lbs box with the same measurements since size is usually a billable weight. My last crate for a CF trunk was 35 lbs but was billed at 205 lbs since thats the max for that size box.

Exactly. This then allows the customer to keep their stock motor as a spare or sell it to someone to get back some of their money they spent on the built motor. This also reduces down time which is always good.

In my opinion this is a better option. Instead of trying to find someone in your area that is good with building Audi motors, you can now just search for a good mechanic that is capable of changing out the motors and leave the motor build to the shops who specialize in that department. This way instead of settling, your getting a well built motor by a reputable shop with experience in Audi's and engine builds.

AKA Sticker Shock. We offer long/short blocks which means the customer can use their car till the new one shows up, they can then sell the their stock engine to offset the cost or keep it as a spare.

I'm in the same boat as you, and have spent a lot of time thinking about it, and it is definitely more worthwhile to buy another motor than it is to build the one you presently have, unless you plan on doing rods/rings and NOTHING else.
