Ok driving down Nimitz today after work right in front of City Mill they are doing construction of some sort. Well wouldn't you know it a metal plate sticking up took out either my tranny pan or the tranny it's self cause my car now has no gearing. Then to top it all off I had to wait 4 f_ _ _ _ ing hours for a tow truck all because I needed a flatbed. I'm so mad right now I can't believe this shit happened to me again. I now officially hate my car. I was just thinking of sending it to Fermahins for some paint not now.

Yeah, I saw that metal plate. I drive back there to head out west after school at night. If I still had my S4, I guarantee I would've bottomed out on that sucker too. You need to change out your suspension, since that cup kit was not made for your model car and is totally worned out, your bump stops are toast! Just sorry to hear that Kurt, take from me that's the price of riding low. I'll be back at low altitude in due time!

Another road to watch out for if your car is lower than stock height is Kapiolani Blvd.. especially between the Piikoi st intersections and Ward Ave intersections..

Actually the Ward Ave. one is really bad. There is a huge metal plate that looks like a man made metal baseball mound that is like 8ft in length and about 2ft high. That thing is killer!

By the way, you will have to file with the State not the C&C because Nimitz is under the state jurisdiction. I have a feeling thats gonna be a long process because they will probably end up going after the contractor for that one.

This has been my gripe ever since I moved over here. Makes me consider selling my car too. I'm stubborn and don't want to swap out the suspension for anything less, but at the same time, I'm sick of all the potholes, steel plates, etc.

Sorry to hear about your car Kurt. Hopefully you'll get it worked out. Man, Fermahin's is really going to love our business, hehe. I haven't had the chance to check out Jesse's car and mine isn't done yet, but I have a lot of confidence in them. Awesome customer service so far, that's for sure.

So I asked him why and he said I can claim the repair thru them. Has anyone else tried this? I have a call in to my agent now just waiting for him to call back. Will keep everyone informed. Going to have the car towed to Volxgerman tomorrow. Aaron said they'll look at it on Monday and let me know.

I was told the same thing but with one of my pothole incidents but my insurance company told me that hitting a pothole falls under collision and not comprehensive coverage so I would lose out on the collision deductible. I have full comprehensive so I would have gone that way had they considered it comprehensive. Strange thing is my mom's car got damaged by derbis flying out of a truck in front of her and the insurance company covered it under comprehensive because they consider flying debris unavoidable by the driver but hitting the pothole is the driver's fault because it's stationary and therefore avoidable. I would suspect a metal plate would be similarly viewed. Judgement call by the insurance company for that one.

i know what a 4 hour wait is like, that's when i busted both tires on the freeway pothole back in Jan. wouldn't have been as long for me if they sent a flatbed first instead of a regular tow truck.

Yay my car is done now I'm happy. Now I just have avoid any major bumps in the road till I can get my coilovers. I might be getting some FK's any bad reviews on these? LMK gonna see if the wife will let me use our tax return to get them. I found a set for $770 shipped. Then I have to go see Thomas for the install. Hopefully I can get this all done before our cruise on June 1st.

Never really heard anything good about FKs. Seems like you would be better off buying a spring/shock setup at that price if you'r ecomparing to FK. There's supposed to be a group buy going on somewhere for Koni/Stasis Streetport coilovers for like $8xx. That would probably be a better option although still not the greatest setup. I sold my Stasis Streetsports and got Vogtland GTs which are so much better. The standard Vogtlands would also be a good choice and a little cheaper than the GTs.

That's a pretty good price for FKs. Go for it! The only person I know who has FKs is Yosh. She has them on her B5 S4 till this very day no problems.

Thanks guys for the quick repair and yeah I lucked out that my insurance covered it. That was actually my first claim ever for my insurance company. Now I just hope my claim with the state holds up still have to print the pics Aaron took for me and submit them with my claim wish me luck on that one. See you folks when my belly pan comes in.
