    did my oil change today...

Did my change with Eneos full synthetic 5w40 at 8 bucks a quart, its not bad...I got talked out of Motul since Eneos is the biggest thing in Japan right now (Super Aguri uses them in F1)

On a side note, since my ride was a certified pre-own I would assume Rusnak would ATLEAST do an oil change...but guess what...shit was so friggin black my homie was like did they ever did an oil change in this car??!! [O_O]

In the owners manual it seems like they did a service at 15k by a dealer in Norcal (right now at 20k) but the manufacture's suggest service interval is pure bs..unless you got a lease you better switch up ATLEAST every 5k

So Im kinda worried though...is the engine damaged at all? Or should I do a re-flush?? Any kind of adv would be helpful

Eneos is the shiznits though...suggest yall to try it...

I wouldn't worry too much if the car is running fine. Just try to do it every 3-5k from now on.

Re: did my oil change today...

I just do mine every 10K like the manual says,
Engine is running great still at 35k miles and Audi uses full synthetic motor oil so if you change the oil every 3-5k, I think its a waste of money. ***Of course of you drive it like your stole it and redline the crap out of your engine when cold, then yea change it frequently.

BMW has a service interval of 15k thats pushing it IMO.

Re: did my oil change today...

10-15k service intervals are not uncommon on new cars with synthetic oil, but I'm still very wary of going 10k miles between oil changes on our high-revving, turbo-charged (read: very hot) 4 banger. The synthetic oil may very well hold up fine in a naturally aspirated engine for 10k miles, but the oil in a turbocharged engine is exposed to much higher temperatures and will have an especially hard time not breaking down if you run the car hard and shut it off without idling afterwards. Couple that with the sludge problems Audi had with the 1.8t, and I'll stick to my 5k oil change interval. It very well may be overkill, but I'd rather pay an extra $65 now for a little peace of mind.
