Quick question, I know i have a bad O2 Sensor, should i replace the front or rear one first? I know the front one is easier to do but i am not concerned about that. They both cost the same on ECStuning, (both are $115 each). AWM Engine Code.

    Re: Oxygen Sensors

How do you know the 02 is bad? The first one is the important one and the 2nd one just says if cat efficiency is good or bad.

    Re: Oxygen Sensors

front is the only one that affects engine performance, rear 02 just tells the ecu that the cat is working.

    Re: Oxygen Sensors

if either on of them goes bad it will throw a code.. is it throwing a code... if it isn't then they are most likely fine.. scan it for a code and it will be either bank 1 or bank 2.. and then you know which one to replace!!!

    If it's a v6 it will show bank 1 or 2. if it's a 4 cylinder it's only bank 1.
It will say sensor 1 or sensor 2.
sensor 1 is closest to the engine, sensor 2 is after cat.

    Re: Oxygen Sensors

Is is bank 2 sensor 1 or sensor 2? bank 2 is the side of the engine since you have a v6 it appears bank 2 is the driver's side. someone chime in if i am wrong on this.

    Re: Oxygen Sensors

Thanks for the help, Yeah it is throwing a code, CEL light has been on for some time. I will have to re-check it, My car is a 4-cylinder, so i guess sensor 1 would be pre-cat and and sensor 2 is post cat?

    Re: Oxygen Sensors

correct. find someone to scan it for you, or head down to your local autozone, advanced auto or whatever and have them scan it for free.
