Wassup everyone, I just got home from getting flashed APR 1+, I've put about 50 miles on it since, and WOW definitely an improvement. I'm so happy I did this it really gives you more confidence behind the wheel (and pedal). The only thing was that it was a little expensive, it came to like $1165 with tax and everything, and I installed the injectors myself, there was an installation fee too so I was a little short but the guy hooked me up as much as he could. So I got stage 1+ 93 octane and race since there was a buy 1 get 1 program sale from APR . Definitely worth it. Any of you stockies that are debating doing something else first, this is really worth it so do it, you'll be happy. Now I just need my DV put on probly this weekend or something.

Also my CEL came back on this morning before I got flashed, turns out it was the same code that made me change the 02 sensors, so I guess my cat is going bad. The guy at the APR dealer said either get an exhaust with cat delete or replace the cat before I need an inspection. He cleared the code anyway, so I'm getting inspected tomorrow before it pops back up, so it'll give me a year to decide how I wanna handle this. I'm off to work now so I'll reply to every1 tonight.

Yeah, since codes were just cleared, they probably won't pass you. I think it has to be driven for a while after code resets, for the inspection to pass you.

Let us know how it goes.

what code were you getting, btw?

    Re: APR 1+ Reviews

Well its slow if you're comparing it to an evo or sti or an a4 with k04 or BT but its definitely has taken a step up from being just bum-slow to decent competitive power. I'm happy with it anyway, I'm not trying to make my car a rocket with a BT or something, just look nice and decent power to support it, or satisfy me.

Edit: Idk the code I didnt write it down but it was something to do with cat too lean or something i have no clue that could be wrong but it was a cat code. When they look at it they say its 1 of 2 things the 02 sensors which I just replaced, or the cat, so now I know its the cat. Going to work, be back later.

    Re: APR 1+ Reviews

I just got my ECU flashed with APR software yesterday (only stage 1 until I grab some injectors) and it cost me just under $600 for the software, a free program, the "labor", and sales tax. The guy said if I throw in my own injectors just go back to him and he'll upgrade to the 1+ file for free. My review of 1 is ... holy crap what an improvement over stock. It's not fast compared to other cars, but compared to what I've been driving around the past few weeks it seems like a beast.

I paid 550 including next day air and a free forge 007, then another $50 when I upgraded to 1+, and 150 for used injectors.

    Re: APR 1+ Reviews

that is probably the dumbest reason to upgrade...just to beat 1 other car. regardless of how fast stage 1, 1+, K04, or even BT are...they are all an improvement over the prior, something you can appreciate every single time you drive.

sort of, they know if its been reset within 3 cycles, which in his case it has, or else the code would probably come back

if you hit boost it will use more fuel. stay out of boost and there shouldn't be that much of a change. city driving will probably not change.

I just went 1+ after being APR stage 1 for over 1.5 years and I think it's a nice improvement over the stage 1 and LIKE WHOA over stock!
I don't beat my car off the line and I don't drag race, but I do get on the gas a bit when I the highway and it feels pretty damn nice!

The price you paid does seem a bit on the high side tho...

    Have fun with it!

Yea I bought their injectors, I know im really stupid and I was gonna get them from manguyen, and if he reads this im sorry, but i didnt wanna wait for the shipping cuz today was the only day i could do it for like probly a week and a half. I know i'm really stupid for paying that much. Anyway, I'm home from work now, the car is still breaking in but I feel it definitely getting more and more. I'm lovin it so far, I think i'm satisfied with this, I dont really want any kind of like sick power in my car cuz im not racing it or anything i just want some decent power for a fun pull here and there, and also enough power to keep up with(not beat) some low end cars.

Also, another question, would unplugging the battery erase or reset the ECU to stock ? My dad said the guys at his repair shop would unplug the battery to pass inspection if they had to because it erases the codes, but he wanted to make sure it wouldn't erase the software.

Naw, ECU should be static flash ram so it doesn't need to be powered to retain its programming. Btw, you will be wanting k04 or BT within a month, trust me

Well... I guess congrats on the upgrade. But you need to play your cards better on your next mods! Overpaying by 400 bucks is definitely not the smart thing to do. And you should know since you're on this site all day every day!

You know, the stage 1+ upgrade seems like a waste to me. I know that if I got flashed I'd want more... kind of the way it works with women too. But to me if you are going to go and put the rest of the supporting mods in, Exhaust, Injectors, DV. you may as well just get a BT. The gains are so much better. It's really pathetic that we have to get chipped to simply keep up with an stock car in the same price range.
