Just how do you get the center radio surround off?

Trying to replace my hazard switch, I've pried on that thing from every angle and I cannot get the wood cover to come off. Managed to break it in two places though. It's making my damn blood pressure shoot through the ceiling because I need to get this hazard switch replaced and I don't know how to get to it.

Please don't tell me I have to remove the entire center console to get to the hazard switch

IIRC, you need to remove the radio,and there are 2 x 8mm headed bolts in there that you need to remove, then its a clip off jobbie

do i need those special keys to get the radio out?

that little sob came out with two butter knives. It just popped right out.
now the wood trim is cracked, but at least I didn't take the whole dash out before I realized how easy it is.
