Cayuga Dragstrip Night! May 30th

Hey everyone,

As some of you know I went to the dragstrip last fall with as small group of guys and was planning on doing a much bigger event this spring. Well the time has come since the track opens this month. The night of the event will be May 30th and there will be a meeting spot in the west end of Toronto posted closer to the event day. However if you cant meet there and then dont worry since everyone has to meet up at the track anyway. If you have any questions feel free to ask.

The short details are as follows:

Where: Toronto Motorsport Track (Cayuga)
Toronto Motorsports Park -Dragway Schedule
Cost: $20 for unlimited runs, $10 to spectate

It is an open event so there will be lots of different types of cars there. However you can line up next to people from out group if you wanted to. I have gone up against Audi's from our group, Modified Supra, and even a built up drag car...but its your choise.

If you have friends with other cars that want to come along that is fine as well. Infact I have invited a group of Lexus guys that I know to spice things up a bit. Hopefully one of the supercharged or turbocharged cars will make it.

Please note that if your cars time is less then 14 seconds you will need a helmet.

Dont count on it! Last time stage 1 and 2 cars were in the mid 14's to low 15's, B7 RS4 was mostly 14.1-13.8 other then one run at 13.5, Stage 3- S4's were 13.7-13.8 range. Remember that a lot of people dont launch the car so they get slower times.

The only date I know of is the 22nd but I am sure there will be lots more.

Dont count on it! Last time stage 1 and 2 cars were in the mid 14's to low 15's, B7 RS4 was mostly 14.1-13.8 other then one run at 13.5, Stage 3- S4's were 13.7-13.8 range. Remember that a lot of people dont launch the car so they get slower times.

That's actually pretty surprising stock s4s have been known to dip into the 13's, from the link below it says the fastest one stock has gone 13.629

but thats true i guess not everyone will launch that hard which would make up that difference easily.

Magnus, also consider that in most of those timeslips the cars are on race gas and that is huge. Its always best to look at trap speeds to judge the car more accuratly since a street start and full launch will produce the same trap speed. Slower or faster shifts is the only thing that would varry trap speed.

Cars will have to go through a safty inspection but I wouldnt expect any problems with our street cars.

Oh and Phoenix80 I hear ya about the higher than expected times; everyone gets so used to hearing only the BEST absolute record-setters so there's a big set up for disappointment. Mid 14's would be good enough for me (stock S4).

Since the drive will be somewhat of a long one for the East end folks.. a few of us have discussed meeting up before hand to drive down let me know if your also coming from the east end.

Thats ok, there will be plenty of other fast cars there. The Skylines dont have a chance against full drag cars.
