    brights as drl's

Is there anyway to hook up the brights to run as drl's? Kinda like the accords and s2000's and such, they run at like 50% brightness and when the parking lights come on they go off. Can this be done with VAG??

i know in canada the S4 run without fogs as DTRL and run the low beams. My A4 runs the fogs as the DTRL.

i already had done the fog light relay mod to be able to manually turn on the fogs, i just thought it would look cool with brights on alone, especially at 50% brightness. maybe theres a way to retrofit the accord stuff on.

What would 50% of your brights accomplish that your regular lights wouldn't?

Id rather burn the halogen rather than the hid, alot of the bimmers and benz's do it too, and I think it looks cool...personally.

so i see now that the new RS4's do this as well, there has to be a way we can get something like that working, it just looks agressive

Buy some Depo ecodes and use the city lights. Or i've seen people drill holes in their headlights and make city lights themselves.
They won't be as bright at drl's but you'll still have the look in the mornings/afternoons/cloudy days. You could always throw in some LED's

    Re: brights as drl's

There are products out there that are made to run your high beams as DRL's. It will then shut off once you turn on your parking lights. You can do this with a simple relay that you install on your high beam wire so that it turns on when you want it or when you turn the key on, you also wire it with the normal head light wire as a trigger to turn the relay on so that your high beams turn off.

The after market products have a delay built in so that the DRL's dont come on for about 30 seconds so that you can start the car without having the high beams as a drain on the battery.

City lights installed into the housing are not even brought enough to see during the day so they wont really act as a day time running light.

here is a product that reduces the head light 24%
