Wow, he cut in to e-codes.

Looks good. Wouldn't that screw up the headlights, having them opened like that, fogging and such?

I think he did put a tube inside the headlight it's just a transparent plastic tube i believe. Look carefully on pic #2 and 6.

Not much of a ram effect; that inlet is small. I have a feeling any gains are placebos because everything still gets compressed at the same psi in the end.

My ecode was f-d up from the get-go due to a dishonest seller who sent me a pic of a new ecode instead of the "chrome chipping" one he sent me. I had little to lose on this experiment.

It does feel different. Plecabo, maybe, but it seemed to quiet down my car a little (clutch fan is removed so it was quiet to start).

It also feels like it pulls strong earlier on. Again, placebo maybe but it felt different to me. Like going from piggies to DP's. Minimal, but slightly noticable.

The lights will eventually be all sealed and water/air tight so they don't fog up. I won't do this until I can see the actual performance #'s. Dyno time.

No doubt the Black Bezel gives it away a bit sooner. This was the easiest solution to start out. I may move to a clear connector bezel to seal the clear tube to the clear lens. This would make it much more stealthy. I just have to find the best way. Asthetics come after performance testing.

Re: Ram Air headlight is in and driven:

thumb up for doing it, but your really not gaining much of anything... looking for colder air?? the turbos compress the air and make it hot anyway, not to mention all that intake plumbing running on top and beside the engine are just adding to the heating effect.

you might could say the extra air being forced into the airbox helps spool time, but dear god the turbos on these cars spool at idle lol.

Re: Ram Air headlight is in and driven:

Props on doing it yourself, but i dont think youll see any big gains from it. On a cool night while at speed on the highway im sure youll be able to tell a little difference(mainly because of air density, not just temp)...but while putting around town the benefits will be negligable. If you were to run a velocity stack and bypass the airbox you would see much better gains...if it doesnt throw a code for the MAF(another reason that i dislike mafs lol). Also, i know its ugly, but the optimal place for the velocity stack would be 2-3" out from the headlight. While at speed, pressure will build up on the front of the car and actually create a boundry of "dead air" on the surface of the bumper. For optimal performance, the VS would have to be outside of that barrier. This is why you see so many SFWD/SRWD drag cars with stacks sticking out from the headlight.

Im not knocking it at all...just giving my opinion. Once again, i give you props for doing this yourself!

BTW-Unless you were able to exactly reproduce the conditions seen at speed on the highway you wont see any gains on the dyno. This is something that would be better tested through logging and before/after times at the track.

Definitely placebo. If it pulls strong "earlier" it's all in your head, as the ram-air wouldn't have any effect earlier, only at high speeds, if any.
