    CPO fee charge

Hi, I bought a dolphin gray 06 A4 2.0T in Mid March and I got it for $24,600 before taxes and fees. Being that it had Navi and Technology packge, and 16k miles on it, I thought it was a good deal. I read a post recently that says CPO isnt an additional fee. My dealer told me that the car was $24,600 but in order for it to be a CPO car I would need to pay an additional $1,500. Is this normal? Do most dealerships have that fee standard on it instead of it being an option? I figured that if it was standard on the price already then my car is suppose to be $26,100 which is average for the car I got. Just wanted to know if I actually got a good deal or was I being played like a fiddle.

    TIA
    -Ray

    Re: CPO fee charge

CPO = you are just buying an extended warranty, that is all...just like you can with any other vehicles
Did you get a paperwork saying you got the CPO vehicle? I guess they took out the warranty when you were negotiating with the dealership...

    Re: CPO fee charge

No i meant i paid an extra 1500 for it to be a CPO but if i didnt it was just "eligible" for CPO. and 24,600 was the sticker price so he didnt take it off because it was never on

    Re: CPO fee charge

Sounds like a good deal to me. FYI, if the dealer had put the warranty on it would have costed them the $ instead and the sticker would have been higher. The CPO can be put on or can be left off. Some people want a cheaper car and would not necessarily want to pay more for a warranty. I highly recommend it though.

    Re: CPO fee charge

I got mine as a CPO and it was 24,500 with 12k on it and they did not charge me any extra fees or "cpo fees" and since i already had an audi i got the 500 bucks loyal discount. The dealer spends 1200 bucks certifying a used car to turn into a CPO and i am sure that you pay part of that 1200 indirectly but you shouldn't have to pay for it on top of the sticker price.

Did you have to pay for tax based on 24.5 or 26.1?

    Re: CPO fee charge

The cost is in the price of the car one way or another. Basically, they've given you an option to have the extended warranty or not. So the car was 26100, or you get 1500 discount if you dont' want the warranty. You have the option to purchase the CPO warrantly later if you want, as long as it's under factory warranty.

well sticker was 24,600 so i figured that it should have had the warranty on it as well and i got taxed for 26,100 i believe.

    Re: CPO fee charge

I respect every guy on the thread but there is something that does smell funny this deal.

If you go to an audi dealer and you purchase a CPO, your buying a Certified Pre-Owned car from Audi with the manufacturers warranty until 50k miles and the CPO limited warranty until 100k miles. What you can buy EXTRA from the dealer is the Scheduled maintenance plan until 50k (for 07 or newer) for $690 extra or for older CPOs with higher mileage you can buy the 55k and 65k miles Scheduled Maintenance Plan for $795 extra on top of the price car.

But a CPO is a CPO and that's why is priced that way.

    Re: CPO fee charge

I hear you, but my car was certified. It went through the process, and was listed as a certified car. However, it only had 6k miles, and I dont' think I'll still have it after 50k miles, so I won't use the warranty. I asked if it would be possible to delete the extended warranty. They said yes, and it would reduce the car price by $1300, because that's the cost of the warranty program. So, I took that option. The CPO isn't transferrable, so there was no value to me.

    Re: CPO fee charge

Wait, I thought that CPO was transferrable and the Scheduled maintenance plan was not.

if the sticker didn't already say CPO then you would have to pay... if it did.. your sales person is ripping you off.
