    Help Possible Dealer Screw Up

I just bought an 06 A4 S-Line and part of the deal was the dealer would install the xm tuner. Does anyone know how the xm would function if this cable was not switched? I recieve about 4 stations, but everytime I call xm to program it the unit never picks up the new stations. I know the antenna works because I can listen to the preview stations I just cant get it programed. My dealer is an hour away so I would rather not drive there to have them fix it. I used to do this stuff for a living so I im not worried about fixing it myself just looking for a little insight. I have no access to the car right now because I am at work and it may rain later, so who knows when I can take a look. If its the cable it would be great but if not its most likely the tuner and off to the dealer I go. Any assistence would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

don't you have to call a number first to activate the other channels?

I did that a total of about 10 times and had the car in a different location each time but no luck. XM told me that a last resort they would send a stronger signal and see if that helped, but yet a gain nothing. Dealer said to bring it in but just didnt know if anyone had any ideas or had the same issue.

If you switch that cable you will probably get NO channels at all. You can give it a shot but i doubt it will work. Might have a bad receiver. !

Hid you leave the receiver connected long enough for the data to be downloaded?
It took me a great time before my receiver linked up and got all the channels.
Did you use the right serial number?

As long as you receive channels - you are fine cables/connections(wise).

Re: Help Possible Dealer Screw Up

Yes I left the receiver on for 3-4hrs each time when they attempted to send the signal. I thought of the wrong serial # because there was a 0 that i thought might have been an O but they ruled that out over at XM. From what A4 Cabrio said it sounds like a bad receiver. I even tried unpluging the receiver and so it would reset but that didnt work either. Thanks for the help I may still look at the cable but looks like im going to the dealer.
