I just got my A6 and it is way overdue for a new timing belt. I want to do it as soon as possible and am wondering if you guys suggest anyone, preferrably in Fairfield County.

I know its not Fairfield, but there is a guy in Rockland (other side of the TZ bridge) who does a very cheap timing belt. Very well known on the passatworld message boards. I think it is $550 for everything, parts included.

ICS in stamford. <-- go there
but also a shop that used to be Speed Technik in Norwalk moved... now theyre High Speed Motorsports in Milford.
VW Touareg V10 TDI. Don't mess.

    Past: Stg. 2+ B7 2.0T, B6 A4 1.8T, Allroad 2.7T 6spd (<-monster), Chevys, Jeeps, and a Nissan.

Understeer is when you hit the wall with the front of the car and oversteer is when you hit the wall with the rear of the car. Horsepower is how fast you hit the wall, torque is how far you take the wall with you, Body kits and decals are how much of a mess you leave on the wall.

That's where they went? I now it's now The Speed Shop over there and wondered what happened. I know Speed Technik used to have a RS6 among other nice cars.

yeah the owner Mitch left the car world to go back to "making real money" on wall street. One of the guys that worked with him at speed technik took all the equipment and brought the shop north and renamed it.
i ran into mitch in Greenwich one day and he told me this. he did a lot of work on my last car. I had no idea what happened to them.

I would go to "The Shop" in Norwalk, or -- if you want the cheapest -- go see SSP tuning in Long Island. They will do the B5 S4 for about $1K with all parts included. I imagine it would be a bit cheaper for your car.

SSP Greg (2001S4NY) will beat them all.... FYI I brought my brothers 2001 A6 2.7T with OEM timing belt never changed at 119 K!

I talked to ICS and they quoted me $1800 plus tax. I know it will cost a lot, but that sounds a little steep.

I'll second this. They do great work and are very fast.
