I did a 2k launch because i have a new clutch installed, 600 miles old. I had him all the way until the end of 3rd gear. Then... he started to walk me increasingly fast.

This is what I expected though. I took the loss happily knowing that if there were any turns whats so ever, I would destroy him.

APR 1+ and mag mufflers is all that would contribute to speed in a line.

you probably were shifting too late haha, anything past 5k makes our car basically an N/A 1.8

I have an 04 B6 1.8tq 6m and my dad has an 04 TL 6m (i think it's an 04 anyway...but who cares) and that thing has way more power than our audis. 1.8t probably puts down like 150awhp plus its a brick (not unlike the TL)... its not even a comparison in terms of the 1420. That honda power plant really is pretty sweet to rev through. But when you really lay into the TL or try a tight turn you can feel how unbalanced it is. Honda sux!

peak hp is around 4300 so shift around 5k depending on the gear

I think APR 1+ should be able to take an automatic TL, the 0-60 times are very close. Even though the hp is more the torque on the TL is less. I havent seen a concrete 0-60 for the 1+ i dont think but I remember i posted a thread about it and most people were saying lower 6's, when an automatic TL is doing 7 even. Well, even mid or upper 6's is better than 7 even but basically the same. If its a manual then it's 6.3 i think..... maybe lower, in which case you're gonna be .3 or .4 seconds behind, still basically about even.

I used to own a 04 TL, the thing is slow as balls and the torque steer is rediculous. As a matter a fact I got rid of it for the audi.

the TL pits down like 260HP too much for 1+ and they have a better pwer band, a K04 would wipe the floor with that thing!

yeah so i'm driving a cl s type right now. its romps b6 1.8s all day long. i find it hard to believe a ko4 would beat it. but i could be wrong. i mean 260hp going to 2 wheels as apposed to 220, maybe, going to 4. seems like it would be a joke. but i could very well be wrong.

i raced a TL from a 70mph roll on and we were dead even, but i have a fully supported 1+... at 130 i was gaining a hair but not much... a k04 would beat but not destroy one...

my 14 year old lil bro has a rsx-S with header/thermal exhaust, ignition and CAI.. in the 1/4 i smoked him by 3-4 lengths off the line but by the end he was coming up on me.... like everyone says, the k03 runs out of breath too quick!

Go BT. With a K04 the car is still slow and that tq spike is annoying after a while.

all my stuff won't be in till the end of may... and i already can't get the freakin grin off my face when i think about it..

plus i think it'll be the first BT B6 in my area, which will be nice. (there's one or two gt2x b5's around cary/raleigh.. and a few jettas/golfs, but i've never even seen a modded B6 other than mine)

FWIW, I have an '08 TL-S and it's not even in the same ballpark as the A4. But then again my A4 is stock.

I can tell you that the TL-S took an '06 (I believe) RSX-S and an '07 Civic Si by a few car lengths.

not only will you regret going k04 -- but going k04 is really the bigger waste of money.

if you think about it, the ONLY things different between a k04 and an eliminator setup are A) most people get a new exhaust manifold B) the turbo itself (400 more) C)the software and D) the injectors (which you can actually find CHEAPER than 380/386 most of the time.)

so when you add it all up, you MIGHT spend another 700-1000 more to go BT now... or you can drop 800 on the k04, get an IC for that, etc etc - and then have to lose half that money when you're parting out your setup in a few months to go BT.

do it once - do it right.

^^well said, now one more question no one has been able to answer this!!! I have access to a free K03S turbo off a brand new Passat 2.0T!!! had like 10k on it, and would it work if i installed it on my car?? what would i need to do????

why would you get rid of your k03 just to put on another one? there's going to be almost zero gain there... if it even fits.

if you can get it for free then take it and sell it to try and make up some of the difference between a k04 and GTRS price-wise

then afterwards you could sell your k03 too, your old manifold, etc... you might recoup almost 40% of cost with the help of that free k03s
