    Suggestions for favorite Camping spots?

    Hey Guys!

Any of you guys campers? I'm itching to go camping, car camping....nothing too hard core. I'm not one to bring my food, clothes, supplies on my back and hike to a spot and camp for four days. LOL

I've gone to Lake Berryessa, Lake Comanche, Lake San Antonio......Yosemite.... What else is out there? Something within a 4 hour drive radius would be preferred. Clean bathrooms with toilets that flush and showers would be nice too.

    Thanks for helping me out!

Coyote Creek (which is really a lake -_-) in the Gilroy (10mins away from outlets) very nice/windey drive up. I went camping in my MR2 last month ahaha, it was a nice place. the floor is grassy (but not too grassy that crazy animals live there) but soft for a nice tent floor. The lake is nice and clean, a bit rocky tho. Has grills, trees, bathroom, no shower though /=.

I second the Santa Cruz mountains, it's nice there.
A place that me and my friends have been going to for the past couple of years is called Mount Madonna. It's in Watsonville and its a lot of fun driving the winding, tree-lined roads there. They have different types of campsites offered (electric/non-electric) as well as clean bathrooms and showers. Plus, its only about a 15 minute drive to the Santa Cruz beaches. Lots of cool trails and beautiful trees around. Cheap too.

I got a nice spot closer than a 4 hour drive =) Lake DelValle in Pleasanton.

You dont feel like your so close to home. Its nice, quiet, clean bathrooms and showers w/ hot water too! We are starting to do a yearly thing w/ my family and all my neices and nephews. You can rent boats out on the lake too.

You wont be dissapointed w/ DelValle!

I've been going to Rollins Lake in Colfax every year for the last 5 years. They have running water at each site, flushable toilets, hot showers, and a general store in case your forget anything or need ice. They also rent boats and jet skiis. And, it's not roughing it like some people like, but anytime you have to bring a portable house and kitchen is roughing it for me....haha

Francis Beach in Halfmoon Bay http://www.parks.ca.gov/pages/531/fi...moonbayPDF.pdf .

It's close from the Bay Area.

Camp next to your car in a grassy area which could be only yards away from the beach (depends which spot you happen to reserve). Fire pit and running water at your campsite, coastal trail for biking/walking/running, toilets/bathrooms are well kept and Starbucks and a liquor store (just in case soda's are low...yeah sodas) is only 5 minutes away.

Woodward reservour, not sure about spelling, they charge car entrance fee, but you can drive very close to the lake, kinda like Beruessa but better :)

    Check out these sites
    http://www.explorer1.com/santacruz/p...tm#North%20Bay
    http://www.explorer1.com/monterey/parks&.htm

usually I pick a spot close to an area where I can surf and chillax on the beach. Nothing like taking down a few cold ones while watching the sunset.
Not a big camping fan…. I don’t really care to drive 4 hours and play “homeless” for a weekend. I can get in touch with nature all day long but at the end of the day I want a nice big bed with clean sheets and a hot shower!
