better spool, more torque down low, eliminates the restriction in your exhaust known as the "catalytic converter"

and personally, it's my way of taking revenge on atleast one or two hybrids...

for every hybrid on the road -- someone should run a TP!

haha thanks man. Does it make noticeable difference if you are bone stock besides a new DV? Or is it only good when some engine mods/chipping is in place?

I would recommend it if you have an aftermarket exhaust, but with stock exhaust its a waste IMO.

i noticed a difference for sure. I lost some pull up top, but i definitely picked up some down low. I dyno'd 113awhp and 137awtq with nothing but the exhaust, DV, and a cone filter on my intake.

Re: Test Pipe question...(not on choosing it)

Max, you gotta get an exhaust now, i can hook you up with a cool place, but it is close to Chicago though. And you can isntall yout TestPipe there. I'm thinking about TP, but i dont wanna have problems with our emissions. But will i?

Cause ifrom what i understand, lets say Revo Stage 2 just takes the cell off of you instrument cluster, but u stil can see it when you VAG or use OBD at emissions, am i wrong???

i'm pretty sure that revo2 gets rid of it all together. and if it helps -- i passed emissions testing with my test pipe. anti-foulers, and reset the ECU right before you go. it won't scan for readiness or check the 02 as long as you don't drive for more than like, 30 mins at 35mph or something like that. (there are intervals at which the ECU checks to see if anything is wrong, and i can't remember them.) as long as you drive straight there you should be fine.

part throttle cruise is when the ECU checks readiness....including the rear o2 cat efficiency test...an example of this would be steady throttle in a gear where the car is running a hair under 3k rpm...then the test will initiate and fail readiness/cat efficency.

i have taken a number of cars to emissions having just cleared codes...the problem is that fuel trims also reset which can effect emissions. block 032 in VAG-COM (basic settings) will trim fuel quickly at part throttle...so i always drove just a few miles to steady out trims then went (after clearning codes). laptop and VAG cable in car while in the testing center too.....hehehehe

    lol, ^^^^nice.

I already have a sweet deal on a custom exhaust system, trying to come up with cash now. I'm not planning on getting a test pipe until I get chipped. Just did not know the purpose of it.

hahaha, glad to know i'm not the only one - and thanks for clearing that up. I know my CEL never comes on in stop-n-go traffic, just on the highway and longer periods cruising in the city.
