I want an e39 M5

Been my dream car for such a long time, this summer I want to buy one.
How expensive are these things to maintain after 60k miles? I basically would keep it until I started making really good money after college (or sooner), so probably around 40-50k miles. Anyone have any info before I throw myself into the bimmer forums?

I would not get this car if you are still in college or you like your car in the shop alot. Especially now with the E39's racking up a lot of miles.

Yeah i;d wait until you have money to burn essentially. Or unless you know a hell of a lot about bimmers and have everything to fix this car, its just thats its a car that gets thrashed and I just love it when the owners are like "never thrashed or burned out" yeah right..what else do you do with close to 500hp?..

there sick cars, just be ready to throw down cash, and make sure you try to finnd one with lower than 50k miles.
