    Stereo wires...

So I'm trying to install an Alpine HU and when I pulled out the stock HU there is a mystery wire... It's separate from the 2 clusters that plug in, and it's not the antenna. It has a yellow clip on the end that plugs into the HU. I'm GUESSING it's a ground wire, but I'd hate to guess wrong and screw something up. Anyone know what this wire is for??

    Re: Stereo wires...

It should be an antenna connection that you don't need on your aftermarket unit. The factory rear glass antenna has three cables coming from it.

If it's turquoise, then it's the sat nav gps cable. I think the dark red is for on-star.

all the above have an antenna-type connection...not sure of the actual connector name, maybe someone can chime in w/that. If it's just some plain ol wire back there... then you got me...there shouldn't be any stray wiring...
