    Film on hood..

So I bought my car about 5 months ago and at the time I was desperate and needed a car same day. It was raining that day so I couldn't really tell but the next day i noticed a weird film on the paint after looking at it from different angles it almost looks like someone threw an egg on the hood, it has a circular area and then coming down the front like some ran off leaving a trail. I tried waxing it and no luck, it appears it should come off it just dulled the paint in those areas. I don't own a buffer and never attempted buffing before, but after reading that seems like maybe my only option. Anyone with any ideas I can remove this, clay bar?

without seeing pics it's hard to tell. i usually try to wash off bird dookie within 24hrs and even then it stains the paint and requires a clay/polish/wax

Waxing will not solve the issue since waxes (true waxes at least) have no cleaners (whether chemical (solvents) - or mechanical (abrasives). Wax is just used to add a layer of protection.

Also, claying will not do anything because it's meant to remove paint overspray and other particulates that can't be rectified by polishes.

You will need a general purpose polish like our einszett Paint Polish . It will clean the paint chemically and remove oxidized and damaged paint revealing the undamaged paint and therefore restoring gloss.

You'll want to apply it with a plush cotton towel (not those bulk bag of rags that scratch paint) and wipe off with a microfiber towel.

After application, apply a coat of wax over the polished surface to protect it. At this point, I suggest you do your entire car if you've never polished it before. It will make it look like new again. Polishing is responsible for about 95% of the gloss and depth factor you see on well maintained cars.

If Paint Polish is not enough to fix the area, you may have to treat that particular area with our einszett Extra polish . I would apply it with a foam applicator pad (you can pick up at any auto parts store). After applying Extra, polish the same area with Paint Polish and then follow up with a coat of wax.

If you would like 1/2 oz samples of these polishes, let me know by emailing me at [email protected] and I'll have some sent to you to try.

And if you have any questions, need more help, feel free to ask.

    Hope this helps!
