    APR 1+ Spark Plug Question

    I have been searching for about an hour, but it's hard to come up with one answer regarding spark plugs.

    I live in Redding, CA and in the summers we can see temps well above of 110 F, RaceTec FMIC will be coming soon, and I wanted to change my spark plugs.

    I'm leaning towards NGK BKR6E's, or should I be leaning towards the 7E's?

    Also what is everybody's recommended gap? I'm thinking 0.030", but others have said 0.028", 0.030", or 0.032".

    I would say its actually a bit higher. I would say we can see asphalt parking lot temperatures @ about 130. Back yard air temp is around 115-120.

    This is a good question, I want to know when I install my 1+ revo (need intercooler and clutch first......)

    Parking lot temps of 130 for sure. The heat up here is no joke, that's why I need that FMIC to get here!!!

    Bosch FR5DTC's. I had an issue with the spark blowing out on my car with BKR's and these fixed it!

    The plugs were not able to keep the spark under boost.

    NGK BKR6EIX, if too hot, then BKR7EIX. All gapped at .028

    im gonna be running the bosch fr5dtc's -- you might have trouble finding them, but any shop that works on porsches will have plenty of them in stock. i found them for 3 bucks each at a local shop.

    chris -- what gap are you running on yours? i was gonna gap to .03
    GT3071R - 338awhp ... GT3076R - 361awhp

    I need more votes!!!! I too am feeling like I'm losing my spark under load so I'm leaning towards the Bosch FR5DTC's or NGK BKR7E's.

    general rule of thumb is that for every 100hp increase over stock you go one step COLDER on the spark plug....the gap should be as big as you can go w/out "spark blow-out" etc...I'm about to run NGK plugs BKR7EIX w/a .028" gap and see how she drives.
