Ok Hi to all. Did someone know where a can get the tools needed for cams and crank. I don't want to pay too mutch for it b/c i might use it only once.
Unless there's somebody close want's to lend me one, like guruman? Because i think the dealer is too expensive for a tool that i may only need once. Or do you know a beter place to go?

www.ecstuning.com has the cam locking tool. Not sure what you were looking to spend.

You can expect to spend ~$100 on the tool if you buy it new from a tuner.

youre saving enough money doing it yourself to buy the ECS one, or shell out more money and have someone else do it.

    Re: timing belt

you don't need the tools if you mark the gears and belt good enough. Take your time before you remove the belt because you can't go back. I marked a single tooth from each cam on the belt and 2 teeth on the crank (used a paint pen and was sure to get plenty on both gear and belt). Then I transfered the marks from the old belt to the new belt (they should have the same number of teeth). Then the only way to screw up is to be off an entire revolution on any of the three gears which should never happen. If you decide to move either of the cam gears be sure to use a breaker bar or wrench and not a ratchet. If you are in the proper position the cam will be pressing one of the valves open so moving the gear in either direction will allow the valve spring to slam the valve shut moving the cam gear with it. The ratchet will let the gear spin free in one direction where the breaker bar or wrench will allow you to stop it. Good luck.

Ok thank's a lot. I've already done timing belts on 4cyls engines but never on a v6. Your right. I'll take a good look and make marks and should be easy.
