anyone ever dp'ed/straight piped the s4??

i was considering getting a set of downpipes with cats and my friend has an exhaust/muffler shop and having him just make me 2 2.5 pipes going from the downpipes to the rear of the car. anyone ever done it before? how's it sound and are they any performance losses to a normal aftermarket exhaust

im doing the same thing right now while my car is out of commission except im going with side exit exhaust. there would be any performance losses from cutting out all the cats however.

i have no cats going to the twin one. so i pretty much have straight pipes except for that one muffler. its loud as hell, i think Derek (deb38) has a setup like that

ya i want loud. i was used to my built and boosted integra with a 3in downpipe. but i would like to keep at least hi-flow cats to avoid throwing codes

Yep! Labree split dp's, no cats, modified borla exhaust- it sounds very nice! quite loud sometimes inside.
even louder are my dumps :)

with my ASP exhaust, I have piggies and no cats, when you take off the rear (only) muffler, it's very loud/ raspy. sounds sweet though. with an actual exhaust w/ straights, it will drone in the cabin, and be louder and make a tad more power.

I run a straight downpipes, no main or pre cats...hooked up to a straight 3.5" pipe, no resonators or mufflers. It's very very loud, and breathes fire.

false. you will get one, but as derek said, you just need some 20 doller CELiminators to space the rear 02's or get a stage II+ ECU flash.

that's odd... mine came on after like 50 miles of driving. do you have a stage III ecu? i think those may come with the II+ code for no CLE written in it if it's GIAC

run CEL eliminators or yes get flashed for 2+ code.. or do both

well having 0 cats will yield more power for sure but i dunno how much really.. maybe 3-5ish?? i think the primary cats are the power stealers rather than the secondary ones

you poor US spec cars have secondary O2 sensors, im taking it they are for emissions... auzzie cars have more power and no secondary O2 sensors... i was waiting to throw a code when i put my exhaust on but no....

Unless you are running something larger than K04's for turbos, I would say the gains are less than that...
