    How wide can you go???

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I was looking at a pair of wheels that are 19x8.5 in the front and 19x11 in the rear. Too wide right, or can I make it fit? If I can make the back fit kinda flush with the fender then I will for sure get these. What is the widest anyone is running right now and how does it look.

I know tire diameter has to be with in 5% of the front or quattro gets F'ed up!!

I don't think you can run 19x11 in the rear without some rubbing... Yeah they can fit, but the only guy I've heard of running 18x10 in the rear rubs pretty good without having tons of wheel gap.
    Ignorance is bliss.

yeah, I think 11s would be too big. 10's will poke.

I was on 18x10 and didn't rub once.... it's all about offset and tire.

    235/40 on my rears

I agree with Pure Euro. Do your reserach real well...10s can fit with the proper ET, but you have minimal clearances between your struts and the fender for sure. 11s would not fit w/o pulling the fenders. I went with 9.5 and 255/30 in the rear!

EuroA4, what did you run on the fronts?

Can we fit 9" fronts with 255/30/19? of course without rubbing....

I think you could probably run the 9s up front, but its all about the right ET.

    I think you'd want a 235 or 245 on a 9" wheel...255 works better on the 9.5" wheels.

    I have the following set-up:
    19x8.5" front with 225/35 ET 36
    19x9.5" rear with 255/30 ET 41

hi, actually i am making a set of 19x9"ET42 fronts and 19x9.5"ET42 rears; so i'm thinking of going 255/30/19 all around. So i'm just wanting to know if 255s will rub in front.

My guess would be yes, they'd rub in the front! But it would depend on how low you go.
Why not just run a 245 on the front to get a bit more stretch?

yeah, i'm now considering going 245s all around to avoid the potential problems.....

Re: How wide can you go???

19X10 on 255/35/19 on the rear works for me. No poke and only rubs on really hard dip. Not sure what the offset is because they never disclose stuff like this. I asked for max lip in the rear so I know that it definitely pushed the wheel in a whole lot more. No BBK in rear for me.

I'm 99% sure that it'll work even if I lower the car more because of the additional camber angle from lowering

Re: How wide can you go???

My fronts are 19x8 on 235/35/19 with ET for BBK clearance. It is pretty flush to the fender and I rolled them just in case.

I think the widest i've seen is someone here that ran the OEM RS4 wheel (19x9 ET 29 IIRC) on 245/35/19 and had to roll his fenders to make it fit. So to sum it up, just like someone said above, it really comes down to offset and a bit of camber magic if you want to really go wide on stock fenders.
