Adding Parking Distance Sensors to a B7 that didn't come with

I have a 25th anv. B7 S4 and it seems like the three options that this model did not come with are the Parking Distance Sensors, Rear Heated Seats and Manual Side/Power Rear Sunshades. In my lust for options I am looking into adding this kit:

    VAGparts Kit

I did a quick search and haven't been able to find anyone that has reported adding this system to a car that was not equipped with it originally, but am hopefull that I am not the first that will be trying this...

I have bought the kit but haven't gotten around to having it installed yet.

A while back I had found a few forum topics on tyresmoke.net detailing the procedure, but the topics no longer exist :(

The hardest part will be drilling the holes and painting the sensors to match. All the kit does is beep, I have it on my S4 and its not really worth it.

Is that how the factory option works? just beeps? no CAN controlled display in the gauge cluster?

That might not be worth it...

Yup, I believe so. The B7 version is not connected to the MMI system like the Q7 or more recent models are.

I ordered the factory ones but they apparently forgot them so the dealer had some aftermarket ones installed. They don't seem to be working right so will have them look at it on my first service. If I'm in a parking garage or a kind of confined area, they seem to work fair to OK. If I'm in a wide open space, they just beep for no apparent reason so I always think I'm rolling up on something. Maybe a sensor loose? Can the sensitivity be adjusted and it's maybe too high. There weren't any instructions or anything with it. It doesn't look like the VAG product though.
