headlights - manual adjustment of auto ranging lights?

    Well, here we go.......
Question: Any problem manually adjusting my self adjusting headlights?

Seems my headlights are pissed that I got new foglights, and they are bitching.

    1 Fault Found:
01534 - Control Circuit for Left Headlight Range Adjusting Motor (V48)
    30-00 - Open or Short to B+

I've reset the codes a million times, instantly return.
I've verified that the sensors, F&R, are both in good shape and readings are within spec (+/- 2%)
I've pulled the left headlight & inspected- all appears in good shape, nothing wet or unplugged, nothing smells burnt, levelling motor looks great.

Both my headlights, both low & high beams, are pointing at the ground.
Sucks for a 6:15 am commute to work....

Of course, I've just raped my bank account for major house projects. Really not prepared to drop several hundred on new lights.

So, the question then is: Any problem manually adjusting my self adjusting headlights?

Re: headlights - manual adjustment of auto ranging lights?

Any problem with just unplugging module 55?
In my searches it seems just unplugging works to kill the indicator & codes when switching to non-self leveling lights.

Anyway, I used a six mm allen & cranked em up several turns each so they looked like the steps I have grown to like so much.

Waiting on more darkness now, then take a drive. If I'm true to my usual headlight adjusting form they'll be a turn or two high... Out in the woods where I live it's easy to pull off & adjust on the fly.

    sucks. headlights are expensive.

The adjusting motor might be faulty. Think they can be purchased seperately.
