    Sunroof electrical lag

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Sometimes (most of the time, recently) when I spin the wheel to open the sunroof, or push the knob to lift it, nothing happens. After a couple tries and a few seconds waiting, it will work.

Any ideas of what the problem could be, or things I should check/do?

It could just be dirty contacts. I don't know if they can be accessed but if they can a couple squirts of electrical contact cleaner (Radio Shack) may do the trick. Also works wonders with the cruise control slider switch.

Mine is not like the one pictured though, mine has multiple open points as you turn the knob. I have a 2001. =( Should it still be basically the same eventhough in the tech its says its for 2 position switchs?

    Re: Sunroof electrical lag

Is it worth it to get the special "electrical contact cleaner" or will any isopropyl (rubbing) alcohol work?
