Is this normal? (L. Rear Light Related)

    To start off, I have a 2004 A4 1.8t.

About a month ago I get a warning from my dash board telling me to check my Left Rear Light. I do, and see that it is out...so I tell my self I will have to get it changed ASAP. I keep driving home and the warning goes off, I go and check the light and the lights back on now.

About a week ago the same thing happened. Light went out, then came back on.

Now, this weekend that just past, the light went off and it hasn't gone back on.

Do you guys think that I have faulty wiring? Or is the bulb just playing tricks with me and has finally decided to die out?

If its just the bulb, do I have options? Or do I need to bring it to the dealer to replace?

Also, if it matters, I am still under my CPO warranty.

Just Replace the bulb and see what happens... Same thing happened to my car. I replaced it and all was well. I dont know if it is under warranty, but its cheap to replace regardless...

Thanks, is this something I can replace my self? Like getting a bulb at Pep Boys or something? I heard something about German cars that the bulb needs nickel on it... I'm not sure.

Where can I purchase one? Is there a certain kind I need? I am still kind of new to the German car scene. I don't want to mess anything up.

Just buy a bulb at Pep Boys or wherever. The bulbs aren't special for Audis.

I had the same problem, right rear taillight out once in a while. If I tapped it with my finger it would go back on. Took it apart, found I had a microscopic break in the bulb's filament. Replaced the bulb, all is well now.

I just found out my left brake light it out too, but I never got any warning light or anything. A friend was behind me and noticed it.
