the audi community in norcal has grown since the past years i've been a member.. so im just posting this trying to get creative with our next meet (bbq/kk meet/gokarts/drive to the beach/ect)..


let us know what you guys want to do to

lets see if we can get something once a month here.. for example.. may could be a month for a bbq.. june go-karting.. july.. ect.

i know Freddie wants to do a BBQ and promote his shop.. we can try to work something out with him...

Before I even read your post, I was thinking a drive to the beach....maybe BBQ there too....I also think the next meet should be Audi's only....I like the Euro meets, but not a lot of people mingle....atleast, that's how it seems to me....I really like that drive we did to Alice's and then that other food place in Half Moon Bay....

Even if it's only Audis, I have noticed at meets people usually talk in different "clicks". At almost every meet, I'm usually with the "click" that Nick (ActiveMonkey), Mike (Sekkey), and Joe (sixfiveoh) are in, whereas other members, especially new ones, are usually in their own "click". At last year's San Leandro meet, I saw Ravi hanging out with his own mini group, wanted to get to know you, but you were with like the insanely modified group.
A monthly meet may work out in the summer, but probably not afterwards (i.e. Nader's monthly milbrae gtg, the host himself has been mia for at least 2 months).

I've been wanting to hit up the beach. Get some caravan going on this side of the mountain and then cruise over 17 to the beach. Though, the hardest thing would be finding parking.

so the first thing to bring back is either a PINO Pleasanton In and Out meet, like on a Thursday night.

Or a Krispe Kreme Meet. Either in UC or in Mtn View.

Then there is the Starbucks in Santa Clara.

small and intimate so we get to know each other! These big ones are kinda intimidating especially for peeps who show up by themselves.

i agree with benny - may be meet at In-n-out or even a boba meet haahah or bring back the old school KK meets in Mt View. Shoot, I remember an old school meet at Daly City LnL a few years ago- we got a lot of cars that night.

I agree that these big euro meets are harder to meet new people and mingle but a smaller Audi only meet or drive would be awesome. I vote drive to the beach and BBQ.

Speaking as one of the newer people to the forums who has never been to a meet, I think a smaller, all Audi get-together would seem pretty approachable.

I'd definitely be up for a drive out to Stinson, or some other beach, for some brew and bbq. I live in Marin, so that's definitely perfect for me, but I know a lot of folks live in the East/South Bay which makes that a pretty long drive. I wouldn't be opposed to going south of San Fran, but the weather tends to be milder up here, plus....can't argue w/ the roads out here!

Should we do a poll, who wants to do a beach meet and where? I'd say a simple yes/no and a South/North of San Fran would be good.

I'm down for an Audi-only, smaller, more intimate meet. I'm pretty new to the forum so it might help out meeting you guys in person. I was actually at the San Leandro meet, walking around with my dog because I didn't know anybody, admiring cars.

I’m in Santa Cruz every weekend there are a few spots we can all park and mingle of course it won’t be right near the beach.

Off of 41st exit on 1 south, there is the Capitola Mall … parking galore, also there are a bunch of chain restaurants within the mall. If you drive a little further down a spot call Hanks at the Hook on 41st has a parking lot across the street, they have one of the best tri – tip sandwiches in SC. Also there is a Round Table off of Portola Ave. has a quaint little coffee shop, a mom- pop donut spot…. flaky, airy, rings of fried dough yummy! Will have enough parking for everyone.

From there depending on where you want to go Capitola is cool but during nice weather impossible to find parking, or jump back on 1 South there is a nice twisty near Manresa State Beach ….. or we can take the scenic route to get to the boardwalk and into town. No drive will be complete without the sweet nectar of fermented barley, hops and yeast …. Seabright Brewery is a solid microbrew a bit on the overprice side but if the sun is out the talent level that rolls through is AMAZING!!

Things to watch out for: Going through the Avenues speed bumps everywhere, SC Sheriff and CHP complete Pricks, Valley Surprise on the way back……..and underage girls check ID has to be something in the water there LOL!!!

Why don't we start off with a small Audi-only meet, like an In-N-Out g2g. Maybe have the meet at the Pleasanton or Milpitas (McCarthy) locations?

I think a small Audi meet would be an excellent idea. It will allow the "wallflowers" , like myself, to be more talkative, hahaha. I was at the last SL meet and the ONLY bone stock Avant. Beach/BBQ sounds good to me.

in n out would be fun. dubs started sunday night starbucks on lawrence, but it got shut down from racing. went there one night after going there regularly and there was a million cops + a pattiwagon. they were basically pulling over any 5.0 they could find. but i've heard that it has been shutdown before in the past, it looked like the cops pretty much had a handle on it tho

I would like to meet at a predetermined destination, talk for an hour and wait for others to show up, then cruise to a restaurant for 30min or so have a party of 20 or something and talk and eat. I love just cruising, and eating and ordering tends to break the ice better. I think that would be fun without consuming too much of the day and just hanging around waiting from something interesting to happen. That's just me....I have trouble going to smaller meets and seeing the same cars.

Ok, since progress on plans has seemed to stall just a little, I wanna at least get the ball rolling on the general area we're trying to or willing to drive to.

Since we wanna do the beach thing, which I think has been sorta settled on and is a great idea, the first thing to decide is which side of San Fran we're going to. I've noticed some folks say the Half-Moon Bay area works, and others seem to like the Muir/Stinson stretch. I am somewhat biased because I live about 30 minutes from Stinson/Muir and Highway 1 up here, but I am totally willing to drive south as well.

However, that being said, I'm casting one vote for the Stinson/Muir area.

We can decide on specifics later, but Stinson is probably the slightly better call (at least if we're meeting North) for a large group gathering w/ the grass areas and parking. I am positive the parking lot at Muir is pretty small, and I am struggling to remember any sort of BBQ areas or any places for groups to gather that ISN'T on sand.

I'm not too familiar w/ potential locations along the coast south of SF, so please feel free to throw out suggestions of specific spots to meet up.

For now, lets remember the general idea is to settle on what side of the Golden Gate we wanna end up on. Lookin' forward to hearing the ideas!

Halfmoon Bay gets my vote. Devils Slide/Sharp Park Road with everyone would be AMAZING. had a gf who lived out there in high school, I love that road <3 lol.

Good seafood + a couple parking lots that I think would work. And I vote for June 15th :-D

I'm down with the an all Audi meet to try and get to know all of you on here. Woodside road to skyline(Alice's) is always a fun drive, especially late at night. I'll try and make it wherever it ends up happening at.

For me if we do a little weekday meet, anytime after 8:00 pm would be fine. That would give me enough time to get home from work, change, and then head out.

Meeting somewhere, chit-chatting, and then cruising to a spot sounds like fun. If there was a good restaurant in Santa Cruz with their own parking lot that we can get into that would be great. Maybe even make a reserve for parking. Just gotta make sure to RSVP the exact number of cars so they save spots.
