weird problem

This happens randomly, but when I put the car into reverse or drive, the PRNDS(park, reverse, neutral, drive, sport) all flash on the dash repeatedly. I don't know if this makes any sense, but everything flashes instead of just the R, D, or P. I'm getting a code P0411, but I don't think this has anything to do with my problem.

BTW, I have a CVT.

I dunno about CVT but mine used to do that and that was because the previous owner broke the little black slider thing that went with the knob and that peice has magnets inside and if they arent working properly then you're gonna get the PRNDS all lit up instead of one. OR the switch board which goes inside might of went out which is a little bit more expensive. this is from my experience!

You have some kind of electrical malfunction. Go to a dealer and get it checked.

Ya it stopped doing it because i had my black slider thing replaced, but mine was all ripped up and messed up. but it could be as simple as just it shifted into wrong place and the magnets dont line up so it starts to mess with your gears.

When you switch into TIP does it switch to numbers or stay at PRNDS all lit up?

There are small magenets on the black piece which trigger sensors on a circuit board above it. Thats why if it breaks you can have a problem. Watch those coins!
