Are the B7 hoods made of aluminum?

I have an '08 2.0T SE.. I was told the hood is aluminum, is this true?

Not sure, I know the RS4s have aluminum hoods, but I didn't think that was true of the A4/S4.

Negative. You can find this our by taking a magnet to the underside of the hood (please dont do it to the top ). Aluminum is unaffected by magnetic forces simply because it lacks any ferrite (iron) materials in it--because its aluminum (an element in the periodic table) and not an alloy that contains ferrites.

Steel however has plenty of iron in it and so can be attracted/attract with magnetic forces.

probably not aluminum. I was told my TT was using the aluminum frame 4 years ago but I found that wasn't true :( .

I bet audi won't really improve it to aluminum simply because A4 is the best selling car. I think any company would eventually get as much profit as possible from its best sellers.

Think about the things that are not available to A4, DSG, Haldex Clutch (was really nice on a TT), A3 seats... The only thing that A4 gets is the 2.0TFSI prior to others. but the engines are made loud(due to fuel injection, but I think audi can make it better by improving quality of craftmanship?) .

Honestly I didn't hear the 4.2FSI to be that loud, as well as the 1.8TFSI, which is made in China for A4s in China.
