    Temp Sensor Recall

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
So a few months ago I received a letter about a recall. I put it away (at least I thought I did) for the future. Well, the future is here and I don't seem to have the letter handy.

Since I haven't been through a recall with Audi yet, and seeing that my temp sensor has shat the bed, will they be able to do a scan on my VIN and either: A) send me another letter, or B) just do the labor and replace it at no charge?

I'm still going to look for the damn letter, so this question is based on the fact that I can't find it.

should beable to do it by vin. and what they will do is put it in the shop to have them diagnose it. and it its the temp sensor they will do everything no charge. its its not, you have to pay at least the diag fee.

    Re: Temp Sensor Recall

Well, the reason I think it's that is because my car's temp gauge isn't working anymore. I noticed it the other night after a drive home from watching the Pirates get stomped. It sat at halfway to warmed up.

Then today on my way to work, it didn't budge.

As far as I know its not a recall, its an extended warrenty. They will only change it for you if yours is not working right. At least that is what I was told at the dealership here.

    Re: Temp Sensor Recall

    LOL..

I was just about to post a new thread about a temp sensor possibly throwing a CEL. You're my savior. I was coming home on Rt. 8 tonight from work, and I threw a CEL.

I took a look at your post. Not something I particularly wanted to go through right now. I have to pay a speeding ticket, and have a possible 2 points put on my record.

If I drive it like so, will it harm the car? Reason I ask is because I might have to wait until next paycheck. If I can wait, then I will. If not, then I'll have to front the $ now.
