    Revo Stage 1 MPG

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I have been contemplating getting revo stage 1 software for awhile now, but i just use my car as a DD so gas mileage is top priority for me. I did get the trial flash, but it wasnt long enough for me to notice anything. For those of you who have upgraded, what changes in MPG, if any, have you noticed? Right now i average about 30mpg 50/50.

Just a random inquiry. thanks in advance!

    Re: Revo Stage 1 MPG

the only change you'll see is under boost, more boost needs more fueling. Other than that, 0 mpg change.

    Search for more info.

    How do you equate that?

With the tiny K03, more fueling will result in less gas mileage (ie: lower MPG). You'll be really pushing a stretched system to its limits.

With a larger turbo such as a GT series, I'm actually getting better gas mileage than stock (highway cruising) because things are optimized better and not running at their limits.

30 mpg? Wow! How are you able to do that? I get about 21 mpg on my car 50/50 hwy/city; and 24mpg if I'm going on a long trip...How can I get good mpg on my car??

i meant as far as driving on the highway, im still getting the same mpg as stock. Hard to say for city driving, i live in tacoma, lots of hills, traffic lights and other obstacles.

    He has a 6 speed.

That is how he has such great MPG.

I have the exact same numbers as you, i have some mods though.

And I don't think chipping our cars helps gas mileage really.. I've noticed its terrible if I go hard on it because I'm pushing the turbo more.

You wont notice much if any change until you go to the injector file as far as daily driving goes

Alright I see. My car doesn't have any mods to the engine, but I feel like I'm not getting good mpg on my car..especially here in the bay area California where premium gas 91 octane is @ a whopping $4.13/gal, a good mpg would help...

thats what i was saying, about the tiny K03. Gas mileage is gonna very depending on how open the throttle is, which effects the amount of boost. More boost equals less mileage (while under boost of course)

It depends on the gear as well. Usually higher the gear, better the mileage for highway and some city driving. I have a 5 spd, while driving in 4th at 35 mph i get better mileage than if i was driving in 5th at 35 mph on a flat road for example.

35mpg looks nice on the computer display. obviously it's not the "true" mpg's, but when you are on a long trip it is pretty accurate.

I get 23-25 mpg while driving 80% city and 20% highway. It's not a tremendous difference in economy...after you get it, you'd wonder why you'd ever drive it stock again.

    I second that.

If I were to follow the computer display I'd see 60mpg because it hasn't been adjusted for the bigger fuel injectors.

Calculated by mileage driven / gallons into the tank yields around 27-28mpg for highway driving with a bicycle on the roof.

Here is my average with a stock motor. I calculate it every time I fill up. 28 mpg (average)80 - 70% highway. 30 mpg all interstate running 75 mph with 4 ppl and a bunch of luggage. And I have a 5 5sp manual.

All numbers are based on easy driving with a few WOT here and there.

The computer is usually 2-3 mpg better then the actual mpg.

Yeah but what Is you driving style like and in what conditions. My city/town doesn't have any stop and go traffic just a lot of traffic lights. I have got 19 to the tank before too, back when I got the car and was always in the boost and shifted at 4500 most the time. And it differs with gas I think too. I always go to the places that I have got the best tank from, not who has the cheaper prices.

If you want some good gas milage get a 93 sentra with a 1.6 5sp manual. I average 35 to the tank with 90% highway to school and The bitch doesn't even have 5th gear anymore. Some how I managed 38 mpg the last tank :-)

    Re: Revo Stage 1 MPG

I only do 65 on the freeway, which is how I get that kind of mileage. I'm at 258 miles with a half tank left, had my trip lasted twice as long, thats around 500-515 miles I would have went before needing fuel, which you divide by 16(I know its not quite 16, but its close) and that puts you in the neighborhood of 32-34mpg...

I don't trust the computer's MPG read-out. I just find out how much gas I fill up and measure against how far I drove. Pretty accurate. Highest average in a month was 25. Lowest was 15...though that was a loaded month of auto-x and track time.
