A4 to S4 Interior Modification

Hey Guys,

I have all the parts I need to convert my ugly gray interior to the black S4 interior. Does anybody have a guide as to what wiring needs to be modified. I really am hoping something is out there, otherwise this is going to take a whole lot longer if I have to figure it out myself.

If not, I'll take lots of pictures and do a write up.

just ge s4 o shit handles sunvisors and such and then just wrap the rest in black suede that is what i did and it turned out great or are you thinking a full dash swap, or just looking for black interior?????

if your car is not a facelift car the headliner will not work, neither will the lights or sunroof controll

Just spray everything in a colorfast black fabric dye and black plastic paint like Plasti-Dip spray.

no he has an upper interior from an s4. Headliner, a, b, c pillars, visors, handles, door mouldings, and both light clusters everything. He doesnt want opinions on what he should do or what you would do. He just wants to know if anyone did the wire splicing to make the front and rear light clusters and visors work. He went from non-homelink to homelink as well. If anyone can help or has done this chime in.

Yes or wrap yours in black suede or something similar.

you could always just rewrap the one already on the car. not too hard either

What are you doing with your old headliner, i need a headliner to go in my 03 A4 with sunroof in grey as mine is screwed.

Just take yours out and spray it with black fabric spray.

It would really help to know what year the A4 is.

The dome light clusters and visors should be the same. There just isn't anything complicated there.

Oh sorry, I have a 97 - Sucks, Im going to take a look at the wiring diagrams this weekend been thinking about it while driving - Really should be that hard.

short answer, no.. but if u no a vagcom guru, it may be possible 2 code the tach so it will work 4 a 4 cylender instead of the Twin snail V6.. keep in mind that your redlines r different

an s4 headliner WILL NOT WORK IN A PRE-FACELIFT CAR. i tried it. if you want one that bad i have one for sale. i also have all the pillars[ they are covered in black suede] and i have all the lights [minus one map light] and sunroof control. i will let it all go for 300.00. its way to big and fragile to ship though.

the headliner is not the same shape. the sunroof seems to be in a different place than the a4's. the sunroof motor is too. since you dont have side bags the pillars dont line up. it was a total mess. i wasted a lot of money trying to do this already. i just wrapped all my stuff in black suede and used the black handles and visors from the s4.

Thats BS!! I have seen several cars with this upgrade.. Only thing is, you need all the parts.. So headliner AND A+B+C pillars.. The only "problem" is the wiring, but if you take the original facelift headliner wiring, the only thing you have to do is re-pin it, thats it...

i did s4 swap in my car. the wiring and plastic harness for the homelink was already there, just hanging with some other wires...i guess it's pre-wired. As far as everything else...it's pretty self explanatory. pull old parts off, install new ones in reverse order.

The s4 stuff doesn't work unless you are swapping interiors 100%. I have some pre facelift b pillars and they are a different shape and length. I have a facelift car. So this your S4 stuff will not work with the car without lower n pillar stuff and many other things.

you need a facelift car for all this to work. mine is 98.5 so non facelift. the headliner is way different in the older cars. the sunroof is in a different spot, and the sunroof motor is different. i have all the stuff for the swap. i ripped out my interior, and it wouldnt work.
