I like the low profile style, funny how many looks I get from A 6/8 owners.

    nottt a fan. sorry.
just leave teh S4, don't throw a 4.2 on there! it's like making it into an american muscle car with 5.7 L on teh side or something. i mean, to each his own...

anyone ever just leave teh "S" on and no 4 or anything? hmmm....

someone with a green B6 did that. took off the rings and the 4, just left the S. Not bad.

I don't think I like the 4.2Q badge on there. but then again, this is coming from someone that took off everything in the back!

    to each, their own...

    Re: My Rear Badge Style

I agree and disagree... I like the looks of it. I think it kinda takes away from having the S that you took off the S4 badging. I think a lot of people don't know what an S4 is and that might give them a clue, but I don't really care... if they don't know, then they're missing out. And they'll figure it out when I pull away from them with that lovely V8 growl. Otherwise, I think it looks clean, simple, and classy. I just wouldn't do it myself.

I don't think many people will know what 4.2 is referring to. They might think you are driving an Audi 4.2 ...sorta goofy.

Your quad tips are enough for a gear-head to know your car is badass.

I say either debadge or leave what's already there. Adding badges that weren't part of the car seems very 'arroz' to me.

The S4 badge looks so sharp I wouldn't even touch it. The 4.2 badge makes it look like a A4 for the uninformed.

Sorry, not a fan. Just keep the S, or debadge them all. Just seems awkward looking.

Is there any trick to de-badging or can you just pull them off. I've thought about doing it, but don't want to wreck the finish.

Get a hair dryer and dental floss.

Heat up the badge so the adhesive becomes warm. Take the dental floss and work it under neath the badge until you are able to pry it off.

Once the badge is off get some Goo-Gone and remove the excess adhesive that remains on the trunk.

On my B5 it was pretty easy. Wait for a hot day or heat it up with a blow dryer. Pull off the badge or use and exacto knife to cut the badge from the double sided tape underneath and use goo gone and a soft towel to get rid of the excess. Just make sure you wipe off excess goo gone when you are done and use soad and water to make sure.

yup. Heat gun/AZ sun/blow dryer with dental floss/fishing wire will do the trick. You might need some compound to buff off the old glue residue.

    Re: My Rear Badge Style

Interesting responses. Personally, I do not need to flaunt that I drive an S4, hence the de-badging in general. I'm not a name brand type person. I bought the car because it is the car that I want to drive. Its not the fastest, best handling and falls short in a bunch of other catagories, but it is the BEST car for me and my needs. I probably have as many or more mods as any other here in this forum, but some how my car seems to still look stock. Which is how I like it. My wife still has to drive it once in a while. I'm all about low key, and not an oettinger type guy. And, it did come with a 4.2 so I think that it is properly represented. For me its simple, clean and "witty". So yes, pretty funny, and CORRECT.

If you're a low key kind of guy, why do you need to flaunt that it's a 4.2L? It just looks kind of out of place in terms of location. I'd either keep the S4 badge or just rock the rings. Granted that's my opinion.

What it reminds me of is an A4 in my area that has the S4 badge on the left and the 4.2 badge on the right WITH the T I need to get a picture of it one of these days....I've always wanted to park next to it and talk to him (or her) about his Turbo'ed V8 but every time I see it, I'm not in the S

I like the way you think. I did it for partly that reason too. I know it's an S4, but I'm messing with everyone else that doesn't know what it is. Throw people off. F*** it! The more people think about it, the more you have succeeded.

umm, have you ever seen another Audi model? They are all badged in that location. Don't compare something so simple to a misrep'd A4. I guess i'm just not a "body kit" type audi owner. I see where your coming from. LOL, and g'day.

And they all have another badge on the other side to balance it out. It just looks odd to advertise engine displacement and not the model. If you like it, that's all the matters, just don't expect everyone else to.
