blowoff like sound

Wuttsup guys, like I said I just picked up my s4 a few days ago and just want to make sure the car is running properly. When im driving the car (ex. 2k rmps at 2nd gear) when im about half way on the throttle to about 3.5k rpm and let off the gas I hear a blow off like sound that goes wooo. Its really not loud and can only really notice it when the windows are down and radio is off, is that how the diverter values are sopposed to sound on this car or are they no good. Tried searching nothing came up.

they where not quite as loud as that and sound a little similiar to that..but i was reading in another forum and someone that had the same problem as me and said it sounds like a pigeon "cooing" lol and it really does. Do you think maybe they could be on there way out?

I would replace them if I was you with either 710n valves or some sort of piston style valve.

any updates on this? i've noticed some piegon cooing in my car as well.. but i have brand new 710ns... i can pinpoint the noise to be louder in the rear of the car then the front... so i'm starting to think it's not engine related...

and it's more of a constant noise at higher rolling speeds... so i'm pretty sure it has nothing to do with the DV's

The sound in the video actually sounds like compressor surge... not a sound coming from the DVs although its caused by a failed DV it will be comming from the turbos

Or if you have an aftermarket intake/darintake/cheesebox then you can definitely hear the DVs "blow off" (divert).

i agree there is some whooshing after the darintake and with my forges, but it's such an unsatisfying whoosh. I drove by my friend, did it, and he's like, what was taht a queef?

so I was gonna order some 710n's online but didnt feel like waiting and wanted the new dv's asap so I when to the dealer and they only had 1 710n in stock so I picked up a pair of 710p's. They work great and hold the boost better, and no more noise. Also i noticed one of my dv's one was very loose inside compared to the other when pushed up. Also a little bit a oil was in the driver side on no alot at all just a little lubed.

You'll be replacing those again with 710n's at some point. Trust me.

The stock Bosch dp's always go bad. I replace them for some Stratmospheres and they worked great, took care of the problem, and gave me a lot more power.
