Meguiars High Tech Yellow Wax. It makes the car shine like no other. The only bad side is you have to wax every 2-3 months, but it is worth it for the shine.

If you really want your car to shine you have to give it the 4 step, 6 hour super shine:

First wash it twice to really get all the dirt off. Then clay bar bar it. Followed by Meguiars Show Car Glaze polish. Finally High Tech Yellow Wax to seal in that shine.

It will take a while, but the results of all that is damn impressive.

Also, Paul is a real cool guy - if you live in SoCal you should stop in their retail shop he'll usually throw in some freebies and deals so you can try different stuff out.

p21s is a great carnuba topper. Go to a Harley Davidson dealership and pick up S100 for half the price of p21s. EXACT same wax, different label.

Wash, Clay, use a power buffer to get out scratchs (2 steps), then carnuba wax (either Zaino or mcguires (SP?)) Those are the basic stuff we use at our Porsche/Audi dealership...but we have specialized waxes.

i just wanted to jump in and say that although it sounds like common sense ... do not buy no name wax/polish/products at a car show. i went to a show a little while back where this sales guy with a good salespitch waxed 1/2 the hood with his stuff, then the other half with meguiars, and his came out looking great of course ... when i got home ... the stuff sucked. i wonder what he had on his display hood to make it look so nice!

Waxes that looks better don't last 3rd as much as waxes/sealant that looks 90% as much. That said, the following are my favorite in no particular order :

Don't trust the dealerships for detailing, they don't know their waxes from sealants

Seriously, most dealerships employ detailers that don't know how to polish, they are mostly successful at adding more marring/swirls/holograms to the paint

Adams polishes FTMFW. best products, service i have ever used.

The finished product of a proper detail is dependent on 2 things

1: product
2: process

Adam's gives a DVD with detailed instructions on the proper use and application of THEIR products. It is a very impressive result. I have used Meguiars for years and been very happy......Untill i tried Adam's. there is no comparison in the results. There are a lot of great products on the market but using them in the wrong order or wrong application method can seriously affect your results. Adam's fine machine polish and Machine superwax are guaranteed to outshine anything you are using or your money back. plus they make a full line of products to fully detail every surface on your car, even the undercarriage. Takes me about 8-10 hours to do a full detail of a car that needs attention. but it will last all year long with some minor weekly maintenance.

i picked up something called "Glare" at a car show.

fantastic shine and finish, and it would bring back the shine on horrible paint too.

i use menzerna IP, then menzerna micro polish, then seal it with menzerna FMJ. All done with the porter cable. Let me just tell you car just looks dead sexy when finished. On my iforged i use adams metal polish 1 and 2 and use menzerna FMJ on the powdercoated area. You wil be happy with the results

what do you guys think of meguiar's nxt generation tech wax 2.0? im not much of a detailer but when i do, thats what i use.. is there something better i can use for the monthly or bi-monthly wax?

i have a special jar of my own jizz i use to wax my car. it works better than your turtle wax and your meguiars and all that other shit

im currently using the new turtlewax ICE... the liquid isnt bad, but the paste wax gives a deeper shine.

I'm partial to the look of carnubas. Pinnacle Souveran has been my favorite for a long time. My friend is a moderator for Autopia and tries out all kinds of stuff and sends me stuff for free. His garage's walls are full (no joke) of detailing supplies. The best thing he's had me try is Pinnacle Souveran. It is just ridiculous on red and black especially. The paint looks super wet. I have used P21S/S100 and it is very good as well except I'd call the look more reflective than wet. Pinnacle is my favorite for sure.

As far as carnuba we use mostly Colonite 915, looks incredible, real durabl lasts 4 months atleast.
Ith a the high silica based cerimac style coatingsout.. PLE 22, opti coat and wolfs hard body to name a few. With these they last 12-24 months depending. We have been using a lot of these lately with great results. Hope this helps guys.
