    IIRC the fastest k04 was something like a 13.9... I'm gonna guess with race gas and a tune to take advantage of it, mid to low 13's could be possible.

    lol, i have a wet kit on 3 of my past cars, (neon r/t 100shot 12.9 @116/ s-10 xtremev6 100shot 14.01 @?/ cavalier 2.2 auto lol 75shot 14.9 @93 w/1.8 6-ft's on junk tires) It really is a great bang for your buck if your smart with it...

    You could easily strip MANY pounds off this car and make tech.

    yea possibly meth would be the way to go BUT... If i get chipped for the k04 and say its running 19-20psi how do i turn up the boost to take advantage of the meth? Can i use an ebc with a chiped ecu?

    also would a fmic be recomended for a k04? And also the k04 will bolt right up to my stock manifold right? Sorry i know im a newb... But seriously thank you for the input!

    Yup, bolts to stock mani. FMIC, larger MAF and injectors are used for the more aggressive K04 files. If your goal is to get the most out of a K04 then you will need a crapload more than just the turbo and software.

    you will most definitely need a clutch if you are going to spray it, regular k04 power is nearing the limit of the stock clutch, you should be ok with the stock clutch and k04, as long as you don't launch it.

    I have a brand new OEM clutch about a 3weeks old, dealer installed it before i picked up the car... Oh well we'll how it last i guess lol. But how do i up the boost if its chipped?
    Ok here are my mods what else do i need to get the MOST out of a ko4 setup?

    Modded air box
    3" dp
    2.5" cat back
    apr chiiped ecu (i know i will need k04 software)

    What year is your car?

    For 97-99.5, you can get the GIAC PC-16 software
    For 2000, you can get the J31 (I think it might be hard to acquire now days)
    For 2001 you can get the hammer file.

    those are the aggressive k04 files. they require different fuel injectors and pressure regulators

    They all require FMIC's.

    You aren't getting into the 13's with a stock clutch and full weight, no way

    get a GT, the k04's are fun around town (tons of low end) but suck for drag racing (no high end).

    Hmmmm.... im sure you can pull of high 13's with a k04... I was running 14.7 with my my k03 on a 92 degree day with 1.9 60fts... Oh sorry its a 99

    you can get high 13's (13.8, 13.9) with an aggressive k04 file, but you said low to mid.
    look up solaris on audiworld, he has a lot done to his k04'd car, and is only capable of low 14's/hi 13's.

    edit: after looking it up it appears his best run was [email protected] .

    he has tweaked a lot of stuff, down to the wheels and tires, etc.

    wasnt the fastest ko4 13.7, on b6 A4? I READ IT sometime ago in audiworld, a red b6, yeah it had some weight reduc. but b5 are lighter also!

    LOL, yeah that is JetJockey and it isn't exactly a K04 seeing that it is custom made for MTM/Dahlback and cost more then a GT30r. His turbo is basically considered a BT. He posts here on AZ. (added) his best time was 13.3 at 107 and as you can see that is no where near K04 ET or MPH. His sig says "fastest K04" as a joke seeing that his car made 240whp on pump gas and 255whp on 109 octane, those are the same power a APR stage 3 and PES T28 put down. His turbo is pretty much a k04/K16 hybrid.


    The fastest true K04-15 is Clark which had a custom GIAC tune for 22psi and 104 octane and was ndbw. He was one of the testers for GIAC and the 2nd to use the PC16 file before going to a much more aggressive file after GIAC did my aggressive K03 tune.

    Are you stuck with the K04?

    If not, its cheaper to go BT, like a gt28. That will get you in the territory more safely without seriously overworking the turbo (like it sounds like your going to do with the K04)

    it's officially called the GTRS, and yes, low 13's are attainable. In fact a guy in Canada ran high 12's on it.

    you can't run a K03 tune on a turbo that flows 5x as much, lol (well, you CAN, but you'd be an idiot, unless it was just temporary, and you were not getting into boost at all)

    you need a new tune , one made for certain injectors, fuel pressure & turbo.
