Ok now that ive got everyones attention, what is the story on this thing , ive seen pics heard HP estimates, pricing, I know APR is currently building a new facility with a test track, bla,bla ,bla, But is this thing a dead horse, or is it coming out in two more weeks,LOL....... Rant over.

Really don't want to throw gas on this fire but why not. VF Engineering told me a few weeks ago that they were still working on a SC for the B6/B7. BS? Maybe but I'm still holding out. I still love my car as much as the day I bought it. Add a SC to the party and I may never need another car.

this is the same issue i had with dinan for my m5... its just simply foolish to spend that kind of money on these cars... with 40k in mods alone plus 30k on the car, at 70k there are far better options than a modded grocery getter...

i am going out on a limb here and going to agree with you... not only is the model no longer in production the demand isnt there in order to justify all the R&D it would take... hopefully we're wrong.

That's exactly the problem. Also, if there was a way to integrate a Procharger I think it would be much cheaper, these 20-35k superchargers are reddiculous. Especially when you can, kiddies cover your ears, throw a little juice on and safely make the same amount of horsepower, just on limited time frames, for about 1200. This car is what it is. German cars aren't super mod friendly anyway, they use all sorts of one-off's in each model etc. All this engineering and people still have trouble with their window regulators.. wtF haha

i seriously feel like this is never going to happen, I mean, its been almost 6 years that this engine has been out, and no sign of any forced induction. I really doubt any company is gonna put in the extra money for R&D, especially since there are so many other audi's with greater potential, AND ROOM!

i am not implying/insinuating anything. this is what i heard. I am not gonna divulge to contents of the conversation because in case what they are working is not done when expected but look out for information from autospeed

IMO...i'm sure APR and other tuners are fully capable of putting out a great s/c kit for the v8s4...but i bet you under high boost during testing they found weak pistons and motors blew...guarantee audi used a cast piston. Same problem with my 3liter. N/A motors can hold high boost but that all depends on how strong the OEM internals are and did the engine builder or manu. consider if the motor will ever be F/I. I beleave audi never intended the use of F/I...that said gives the reasons i stated earlier.

i'll use my 3liter to give you guyz a little of what i think. my 3liter is running a M62 Eaton blower and PES set boost at 5-7 at normal driving conditions and 9-10 at WOT...the M62 Eaton is capable of running as high as 17 so if you think about it the blower on my appliction is really not being pushed, still alot of room for more power gains but the 3liter was just not designed for F/I and the more power i made the easier it was to blow a piston. Now i have a built 3liter ready to go i'll keep ya all posted.

i know APR can put a kit out for the v8s4 and i bet they already have one but will not release it because they know that for what they have to charge the gains will not make sense for the price. my guess is if APR were to sell the kit it might come in around 8-10g's and you get 100-120hp's to keep the motor safe and out of the danger zone. Once someone drops the pulley size on that kit and raise the gains say good bye to your motor. I would also say that APR's s/c kit is detuned for the v8 motor but is ready to do more but the pistons will fail before that could happen.

So if APR released the kit but released it with pistons would people buy it not to mention the labour involved with this kind of project.

Amen to that statement about window regulators. Have had 4 Audi's all plagued with that issue. But aside from that, what happened to PES and AWE and VF Engineering's versions of the B6/B7 supercharger?

Good points... the MTM kit maxes out somewhere around 0.60 bar, which is roughly 8.7 psi. For just a slight increase in boost, i.e. an additional 50hp from their K500 kit, new pistons were required to lower the compression ratio. Now this is with a twin-screw supercharger which creates a cooler charge than a roots blower and is combined with additional items from MTM to further assist with cooling. Based on that it would seem difficult to design a "low-cost" system around the less efficient roots blower and still be able to make 110+ hp without incurring some problems with heat. At 5-7 psi there may not be any issues, but like you said it might not provide enough power to justify selling it either.
