anyone know a mafless tuning for gt3071

i have tapp tuning on my gt3071r but making a 4 inch intake on my car is a real pita, is there anyone out there know of or have a setup that does not require a MAF?

yeah its a PITA but once its overwith, its a non-issue.

Tapp tune was made for and around that MAF, so unless you can create your own files and /or tweak tapp's, then I'd say the answer is no

The only MAF-less files around are for 2001 and up. So you are outta luck there.

^^^^Yup 2001 mafless with a 3071r. Unitronic 630 file. Uses then map sensor. Runs amazing!!!

Most tuners will only do a speed density tune for the cars that came with a map sensor and a wide band 02, so this means 2001+.

You can do without the MAF if you have a MAP, the tuner sill tune based on pressure not airflow, same principly as most SEM's out there, go off the map sensor.

it all depends on your tune you choose, but yes you have the option of running mafless since yours can be tuned off the map sensor like killa said

Well unless you can find a tuner that would be willing to swap in a map sensor in place of the maf which is one of the things I talked to GIAC about, only problem is that the car still isn't running a wide band 02 sensor which is easier to tune since the tuner can just program the ecu to hit a set AFR target during WOT.

I want to get the info now to do the setup properly when I do go BT. But for tune, I am going to go by the recommendations of other users on this forum board and get either CTapp or Unitronics. Those tunes require for MAFs? Add some don't?

EDit: I meant to say those (CTapp and Unitronics) do not require MAFs? And some do? Seeing how mine is an 01, I will not need a MAF because they can tune the ECU to adjust the Air to Fuel ratio from the MAP sensor and Wideband 02.

CTapp has mafless tunes for the 01 and up. I dont know about UNI. Like everyone else said its all about who you choose.

So, make it available to all who use wideband setups who have the map sensor. When Chris tapp told me he had mafless tunes for the 2001+ guys cause they had the map sensor+wideband, i was kinda annoyed, cause my car has the same thing, except im a 2000, just doesnt come stock with the wideband. Am i thinking completely wrong here?

Well its not just that the car has a wide band installed, it is that the car actually uses a wide band for the stock ECU which is the 2001+ cars.

Ahh, i got ya, yeah that makes sense. yeah poopie, I haven't found anything for mafless on a 2000, I talked to chris for a while on the phone about it, but he made it sound like it was not happening on a 2000 or earlier.

Can be done but the time and effort involved in making a conversion kit will not be worth it as only a few of us are AEB's.Most of the Audi's on here are DBW

I would post the info for that but no longer have any of the logs of block 115 that I used to have on my old computer. IIRC it is right around 2500 mbar or just under it.

It can be done, i've been sidetracked with other stuff, but it might be as easy as getting a tuner's file and converting it.

I've been poking around in the code for NDBW for many years - anything can be done, as long as you know what you're doing.

The problem is how Load is calculated. Load is used for most of the maps in the software, fuel, timing, boost, etc. Load is based off of MAF and RPM. If you know what you're doing, you could change Load to be based off of just MAP.

On top of that, the base fuel calc is based off of MAF, you'd need to replace MAF with MAP, temp, and RPM.

The alternative is a programmable external box that has MAP, temp, baro, RPM inputs, and outputs a MAF signal the stock ECU can use.
