    S4 newbie question

Just picked up my S4 about 4 days ago after totaling my A4 hitting a deer. I love every second of it, and not wasting any time modding it. I already have the JHM Solid Shortshifter and AWE pedals on order. Next buys are going to be the HR rear sway bar and I'm thinking about the HR lowering springs. Here's where my question comes in:

Coming from the A4, obviously there's a slightly different learning curve with the S...In the A4 if you got lowering springs and kept the stock dampers, the dampers would be shot after 3-6 months. Is this true for the S4 as well? I see tons of threads titled "HR springs! pics!" and I've carefully read all the replies, but the mention of new dampers hasnt ever come up.

    hope that all made sense.

    oh..and I'm sure u want specs. Old car was an 01 A4 2.8L, 5speed mt, quattro, w/sport package. and the S is an 05

    thanks in advance!

First let me congratulate you on your S4 purchase.......and hope that no individual was injured in the accident with the deer.

Now moving on to your spring question........what you're gonna find is generally most B6/B7 S4/RS4 owners go with COs as opposed to springs for a more aggressive stance/look and improved handling.

Lastly.....thanks for the description of the new car.....but let's see some pics. Also, it seems like you're off to a good start with some tasteful mods.

    Re: S4 newbie question

Upgrade both or none, the stock shocks will bottom out with lower springs.

    Congrats on the new car.
